Just a chorus
You say I’ll never find a love like you
How sad that it would be if it was true
What I didn’t understand
You meant I’ll never find a man
Who loves to hurt me quite the way you do
How sad that it would be if it was true
What I didn’t understand
You meant I’ll never find a man
Who loves to hurt me quite the way you do
I'd Rather Lose You Than My Phone!!
1. At the store the other day/ I set my phone down for a second /following that I had a moments terror /the extent of which I never reckoned/ 2. I asked a lady so embarrassed/ help I lost my phone it's the truth/ she looked at me funny but called my number/ I heard that ringtone at the courtesy booth/ (spoken)/ listen to that ringtone 2-3 people said "I remember that show!!, some guy is lighting a fuse! Good ringtone when you have a dysfunctional or datfunctional marriage/ 3. my phone keeps my grocery list and pays my bills / it knows everything I know / I can delete what I want to/ how'd I survive without this gizmo? / 4. Sometimes sweeties don't sound alike / words that rhyme my phone's got em all day/ but when it comes to disharmonic love my device don't have much to say / 5. It's slim and it looks good / it stays quietly in my jeans/ I can turn the volume down when I want/ it forgets my mistakes and it knows what I mean/ 6. Oh honey you know I love you / just blowing steam I don't mean nuttin/ boy if my spouse reads this I'm surely dead / oh crud by mistake I hit the send button / (spoken) but you know what, my phone does more for me than my spouse , sometimes I think I'd rather lose you than my phone...oh, what's that noise, I got a new text, what the heck is this? Alexa, what do "divorce" and "alimony" mean? Next year I'll be filing my taxes under filing status 1, not 2?
About a Girl (Your Move Chief)
I know the streets every crack,
Ever bar & broken sign,
I know the faces looking back,
But none of them know mine,
I’ve learnt to leave before I’m left,
To laugh before they see me hurt,
Keep every good thing at arms length,
Like somehow I’m making it work,
Pre chorus:
You could tell me I’m worth saving,
I’d find a reason to disagree,
Cause it’s easier to call it nothing,
Than to risk it meaning something to me
Chorus:
Maybe I could let somebody in,
And stay instead of run,
Maybe there’s a life beyond this town,
That shines in a hopeful sun,
The closerrr you get,
The more I push you away,
Bostons mine & here I’ll stay…
How’d you like them apples?
A witty quip to mask the pain,
I could spend my whole life proving’
I’m the smartest in the room again
Yeah ‘my boys hella smart’
A chalkboard equation, the spoken word
Can recite a sonnet, explain life’s art,
But still I don’t know what I deserve
Pre chorus;
You could tell me it’s not my fault,
I’d find a way to disagree,
I could tear your fucking world apart,
Deflecting my insecurities
Chorus;
Maybe I could let you in,
And stay instead of run,
Maybe there’s a life beyond this town,
That shines in a hopeful sun,
The closerrrr you get,
The more I push you away,
Bostons mine & here I’ll stay
You sat me down upon a bench,
Gazed upon a tranquil pond,
‘Visiting hours don’t apply’
When you have that special bond,
With every word you opened my eyes,
Broke down my barriers
& gave me belief,
My choices are mine,
My own free will,
‘Your move chief’
Chorus;
Maybe now I’ll let you in,
& Together we can run
And find a life beyond this town,
That shines in a hopeful sun,
& now chuckie can smile,
It’s the best part of his day,
No goodbye or see you later,
I’m chasing better days,
Outro:
Boston was my home,
My selfish fucked up little world,
Today I’m choosing me,
‘I’m going to see about a girl
Ever bar & broken sign,
I know the faces looking back,
But none of them know mine,
I’ve learnt to leave before I’m left,
To laugh before they see me hurt,
Keep every good thing at arms length,
Like somehow I’m making it work,

Still Love You
Verse 1
We had a thousand nights behind us,
A thousand reasons to believe.
I thought the world would keep us steady,
Never thought you’d leave.
Somewhere between the words unspoken
And the distance we ignored,
We went from everything to strangers
Standing on opposite shores.
Pre-Chorus
And I can’t change where we ended,
Can’t go back to where we started…
Chorus
But I still love you,
I still love you.
Even though you’re not here,
I still feel you.
If losing you is all that’s left
Of everything we knew,
Then I’ll carry what we were
’Cause I still love you.
Verse 2
I see your face in certain places,
Hear your voice inside my head.
Funny how a life can disappear
But the memories never do.
I wish I’d known the last goodbye
Was the last one we would say.
I’d have held you just a little longer,
I’d have begged you to stay.
Pre-Chorus
But some endings don’t need permission,
And some hearts don’t get a choice…
Chorus
But I still love you,
I still love you.
Even though you’re not here,
I still feel you.
If losing you is all that’s left
Of everything we knew,
Then I’ll carry what we were
’Cause I still love you.
Bridge
Maybe someday I’ll stop reaching
For a hand that’s not mine.
Maybe someday I’ll remember
Without wishing we could rewind.
But if loving you was a mistake,
It’s one I’d make again—
I’d lose you all over
Just to have you once again.
Final Chorus
Yeah, I still love you,
God, I still love you.
Even though you’re not here,
I still feel you.
And if all we have is yesterday,
I’ll hold it like it’s new.
You may not be mine anymore…
But I’ll always love you.
That’s the one thing
Time can’t undo.

(chorus)
Poi-son kis-ses tainted by deceit
I get a dose everytime our 2 lips meet
You're wantin my true love but yours always misses
ev'rytime we kiss I taste those poison kisses
Who'll be foolin who
if I look the other way
then we hug and kiss again
and my heart has to pay....for those
(chorus)
Poi-son kis-ses tainted by deceit
I get a dose everytime our 2 lips meet
You're wantin my true love but yours always misses
ev'rytime we kiss I taste those poison kisses
******instrument breaks*****
I use to feel the urges
when our lips would meet
now there's only(a) coldness
where there once was fiery heat
(chorus)
Poison kisses tainted by deceit
ev'rytime I get a dose when our 2 lips meet
You're wantin my true love but yours always misses
ev'rytime we kiss I taste those poison kisses

Somewhere in the poison(passion) there lies an antidote,
I just have to find it or give up my hope, ..... to those

Candles in the window
Candles in the window
There was silence in the air
A young girl cries out
In the middle of the prayer
Her father returned home
With medals on his chest
His body cold and lifeless
Along with all the rest
Another fallen soldier
Struck down by a shell
Another shattered home
Descended into hell
Her mum consoles her
She tries her very best
But her daughter knows
She's now fatherless.
She had so much to tell him
About when he was gone
Her mother holds her tightly
Telling her to be strong
She can't understand
Why he went to war
What was the cause?
What was it all for?
Her father returned home
With medals on his chest
His body cold and lifeless
Along with all the rest
Another fallen soldier
Struck down by a shell
Another shattered home
Another sad farewell
Feelings overwhelm her
She can hardly believe
Her chest it tightens
Now, she can hardly breathe
She stands up at the coffin
Tears rolling down her face
She looks down at her father
Knowing he can't be replaced
Her father returned home
With medals on his chest
His memory will live on
But he'll forever be laid to rest

Can't Dream About Tomorrow
Can’t Dream About Tomorrow
Carlton J. Young
It was 3 am, I couldn’t sleep
Paced around, tried to think.
I wandered outside into the cold
My mind went numb my lips nearly froze
My world changed in an instant
The moment you were gone.
You’re all I ever wanted
How can I face the dawn?
Chorus
I can’t dream about tomorrow
If I did I’d surely cry
Don’t wanna live without you
I just can’t say goodbye.
Can’t dream about tomorrow
‘Cause tomorrow could never be
The same as all our yesterdays
If you’re not here with me.
As the sun was slowly risin’
My brain began to thaw.
Everything I thought we were
Faded with the fog.
You tried and tried to tell me
How you felt so all alone.
I spent more time with my friends
When I should’ve been at home.
Repeat Chorus
Bridge
I hope one day that you will find
The man you’re searchin’ for
Even though my heart is breakin’
I’ll love you forever more.
Repeat Chorus

Alone with my thoughts
Alone with my thoughts
Thinking what have I become
A sense of understanding
As to why I've become numb.
Depending on the outlook
Some could say I'm doing well
But living in isolation is like
My very own private hell
Poor decisions on my part
Feeling some type of way
Depression rears its ugly head
Looks like this time it's here to stay
Yeah, I'm waiting in this place
For the day to finally come,
When I vacate this space
And pay the final sum.
Silence hangs in the air,
The beauty I cannot see.
Killing time with a stare,
In a room without a key.
Thoughts circle my mind,
Like a merry-go-round.
Joy, I can no longer find.
Only misery I have found.
What will become of me?
Can my sorry soul ever be saved?
Or will I take the road to hell,
The one that I have paved.
There's four walls around me
I'm trapped in this damn cage
Unable to escape my thoughts
Praying I don't die from old age.
I'm sorry for my sins
I've had a lot of time to think
And if only I could go back now
I'd have given up the drink
Now
I'm waiting in this place
For the day to finally come,
When I vacate this space
And pay the final sum.
Silence hangs in the air,
The beauty I cannot see.
Killing time with a stare,

"You, I Hate"
“You, I Hate”
Words by Kerry Mark Blackman
You, I hate
You don't even rate
You'll never be my mate
I knew it when I slept
Knew it when I’d wake
Even knew it when I ate
You really take the cake
You’re so opaque
Such a fake
How could I have made
Such a stupid mistake
When I met you
You reeled me in
Like a fish in a lake
And I took the bate
Was more than I could take
Ended up bein’
As bad as an earthquake
For Pete’s sake

First Time in my Life
First Time In My Life
Verse 1
Time is not on our side
It took me so long to realize
That moments write a memory's tale
Which one day turns to a wishing well
To take me back like a witch's spell
And brings back hope, but then it fades
Verse 2
I remember when
You walked across my path and then I fell
You picked me up, I softly smiled
Before you spoke, I walked away
You chased me down and asked me out
I wanted to know what you were all about
Pre-Chorus
It was the first time in my life
The first time I shared my life
With you
Chorus
Every memory writes our story
Every page still feels so true
Though the chapters now have ended
My heart still lives with you
Verse 3
Home became the life we built
From the dreams we drew together
Though our first fight shook our world
We held on through every weather
Until we found a place to call our own
Where every dream had finally found a home
Pre-Chorus
It was the first time in my life
The first time I shared my home
With you
Chorus
Every memory writes our story
Every page still feels so true
Though the chapters now have ended
My heart still lives with you
Bridge
Then our little boy arrived
Changing both our hearts in time
A love we'd never known before
Filled every corner of our lives
We gave him all the best we had
Praying he'd grow kind, brave, and strong
Final Pre-Chorus
It was the first time in my life
The first time in my life
Without you
Final Chorus
Every memory writes our story
Every page still feels so true
Though the chapters now have ended
Your love still carries me through
It's the first time in my life...
Without you.

Never Givin Up
We grew apart over the years
I ran around town
Acting like a clown
Every woman I met
Ended with the same tears
No knowing when it went wrong
Just like a good old country song
BUT,
Sorry, I Messed up
Wishin to make up
I’ll Never give up
Loving the thought of you
Loving the things we could do
My heart beats from yours
Walk through that door
One more chance
One more dance
Never cameback from the war
Left my soul on the ground
fallen friends make no sounds
Startled awake in my sleep
Hatred and fear run deep
Need a drink to calm down
But, sunrise comes around
BUT,
Sorry, I Messed up
Wishin to make up
I’ve Never given up
Loving the thought of you
Loving the things we could do
My heart beats from yours
Walk through that door
One more chance
One more dance
Watched with pride and joy
Our son on graduation day
Saw you sitting far away
I stayed by the back door
You’ve raised him right
While I battled the fight
I see,
Sorry, I Messed up
Wishin to make up
I’ve Never given up
Loving the thought of you
Loving the things we could do
My heart beats from yours
Walk through that door
One more chance
One more dance
Spending Sundays in prayer
Let the words of Jesus care
Looking for my forgiveness
Hugged our son, thankfulness
He said you wished to meet
As we walked down the street
I know
I Messed up
Wish to make up
I’ve Never given up
Loving the thought of you
Loving all the things we do
My heart beats from yours
Let me walk through that door
One more chance
One more dance
You said yes a SECOND TIME
I Messed up
Wish to make up
I’ve Never given up
Loving the thought of you
Loving all the things we’ll do
My heart beats with yours
Walking through that door
One more chance
One more dance
Kids and family together
Moving on from the past
Make good memories last
My demons are put to test
Your love keeps me at rest
Messed up
Made up
Never gave up
Loving you
Loving’s what we’ll do
My heart beats with yours
Walking through that door
One more chance
One more dance
Messed up
made up
Never gave up
Loving you
Right thing to do
Loving you
Loving you
Right thing to do

I GOT TODAY
[Verse 1]
She used to worry 'bout the little things,
Bills on the table, broken wings,
Never knew she'd miss those ordinary days,
Now she'd give anything just to have them back again.
There's a pill beside the bed tonight,
A photograph underneath the light,
She whispers, “Lord, I don't need much...”
Just one more morning, one more touch.
[Pre-Chorus]
Funny how we never know
What we're holding till we let it go...
[Chorus]
I got today, I got today,
And that's enough for me.
I got your hand, I got your smile,
I got you here with me.
I won't waste another minute
Wishing life away,
Tomorrow isn't promised,
But I got today.
Oh, I got today.
[Verse 2]
He sits beside her, holding her hand,
Saying, “We'll get through this somehow, we can.”
She looks at him and starts to smile,
“Baby, just stay with me a little while.”
They talk about the things they never did,
Places they dreamed of when they were kids,
Then she says, “Don't be afraid...”
“Love me while I'm here today.”
[Pre-Chorus]
Funny how the smallest things
Can mean everything...
[Chorus]
I got today, I got today,
And that's enough for me.
I got your hand, I got your smile,
I got you here with me.
I won't waste another minute
Wishing life away,
Tomorrow isn't promised,
But I got today.
[Bridge]
Call your mama, tell her you love her,
Hold somebody a little longer,
Say “I'm sorry,” say “I forgive,”
Don't wait for tomorrow to start living.
[Final Chorus]
I got today, I got today,
So I'm gonna make it count.
I'm gonna laugh, I'm gonna love,
I'm gonna sing it loud.
And if tomorrow takes me
Where I cannot stay,
I'll leave this world knowing
I didn't waste today.
[Outro]
I got today...
I got your love...
I got today...
And that's enough.
She used to worry 'bout the little things,
Bills on the table, broken wings,
Never knew she'd miss those ordinary days,
Now she'd give anything just to have them back again.

She Faded Away
Verse 1
She used to curl up next to me every night,
Lay her head upon my chest and hold me tight.
We couldn’t wait to watch our family grow,
Now there’s a cold spot in this bed where her love used to go.
She says she’s tired, got a lot on her mind,
But the distance between us grows all the time.
I reach for her hand but it slips away,
Like watching the sunset slowly steal the day.
Chorus
She didn’t leave all at once,
She faded away.
One little piece at a time,
One ordinary day.
No slammed doors, no goodbye,
No tears left to cry.
Just a woman I loved turning into a stranger before my eyes.
She didn’t leave all at once,
She faded away.
Verse 2
Used to spend an hour getting ready for a date,
Painted lips, pretty dress, couldn’t wait.
Now the makeup gathers dust beside the sink,
And she works so much these days she barely has time to think.
Now every word I say is somehow wrong,
Every choice I make turns into another long
Conversation about the things I never do right,
Feels like she’s keeping score every night.
Bridge
And our little boy comes running through the room,
With his mama’s eyes and his daddy’s boots.
I think about leaving when the hurt gets too strong,
But I can’t bear the thought of him wondering where I’ve gone.
Final Chorus
She didn’t leave all at once,
She faded away.
Till there was almost nothing
Of the girl from yesterday.
And I stand here holding on
To memories she let go.
Loving someone who’s already gone
Is the loneliest thing I know.
Outro
So I’ll kiss my little boy and tuck him into bed,
And pray tomorrow brings back what we’ve lost instead.
But deep down I know some hearts don’t break that way,
They don't leave all at once.....
They just fade away.
She used to curl up next to me every night,
Lay her head upon my chest and hold me tight.
We couldn’t wait to watch our family grow,
Now there’s a cold spot in this bed where her love used to go.

Who's Got Larry?
Verse 1:
He’s thinking he’s Sonny
crusin’ all of Miami.
His windblown hair,
and his fancy Ferrari.
You know he ain’t thinkin’.
His sedan tells the tale.
He’s just plain ole Larry,
and this is doomed to fail.
Chorus:
Who’s got Larry?
He’s got himself off the chain.
He’s out in the wild,
and we are to blame.
We should all know better
than to let him get loose.
No one’s got Larry,
and there ain’t no excuse.
Verse 2:
Now he’s Han Solo
at warp speed, in the Falcon.
Hitting on a princess,
but with no better outcome.
He’s batting his eyes.
He’s givin’ the stare,
but there’s no wingman for Larry.
Ain’t no one, nowhere!
Chorus:
Who’s got Larry?
He’s got himself off the chain.
He’s out in the wild,
and we are to blame.
We should all know better
than to let him get loose.
No one’s got Larry,
and there ain’t no excuse.
Verse 3:
Larry’s out once again.
This time he’s Denzel.
He’s outthinking the bad guys,
and raisin’ some hell.
We knew it was bad.
We knew he was whacked.
We let Larry down,
and now he’s flat on his back.
Chorus:
Who’s got Larry?
He’s got himself off the chain.
He’s out in the wild,
and we are to blame.
We should all know better
than to let him get loose.
No one’s got Larry,

We should all know better
than to let him get loose.
No one’s got Larry,
and there ain’t no excuse.
Conversation at the end as music dies down.
Who’s got Larry?
I thought you had him.
No man…last time I saw him, he was with you.
No way dude. I never had him.
Oh man…where was the last time you saw him.
Hell, if I know…let’s retrace our steps. Let’s start at the bar….

6 Hands
Six Hands
Genre: Slow, Storytelling Country
Vibe: Raw, Vulnerable, Heavy, Redemptive
Verse 1
My mama worked three jobs until the midnight oil was gone
Our sister left her classroom just to keep my boots on
She traded in her youth just to raise her brother right
Fighting her own demons in the shadows of the night
With a heavy heart and a hand that always held my own
She made damn sure that I never felt alone
We grew up on the empty side of a broken dollar bill
Learning how to survive upon a steep and rocky hill
Chorus 1
And I ran straight into the fire, fought a war inside my head
Drowned my blessings in the bottle, left a trail of what was dead
But when the sky fell total black, and I lost my mind and name
Two hands reached through the wreckage, and they pulled me from the flame
My mama built the foundation, my sister gave her youth
When I was throwing life away, they held me to the truth
Verse 2
Joined the ranks, wore the uniform, thought I’d found my way
Ten long years, a faithful wife, an eight-year-old at play
But the shadows came a-calling, and I drank away my home
When the closet emptied out, she left me all alone
His mother packed her bags, she couldn't take the heat
Left me drowning in the ashes, broken in the street
But Mama took the pieces, said, "You're still my boy"
She glued me back together when the world tried to destroy
Chorus 2
And I ran straight into the fire, fought a war inside my head
Drowned my blessings in the bottle, left a trail of what was dead
But when the sky fell total black, and I lost my mind and name
A mother's hands reached through the wreckage, pulled me from the flame
She rebuilt the foundation when I threw my life away
She held the line for her boy until the breaking of the day
Bridge
Then came my vows to a woman made of gold
The demons followed close, and the nights got freezing cold
No roof above our heads, living like a ghost
But she never packed her bags when I needed her the most
We walked through the valley, we tasted the dirt
She chose to share my shadow, she chose to share my hurt
[Guitar Solo - Slow, heavy, building into a crescendo]
Verse 3
The bottle's finally empty, the fog is clearing out
I'm standing on the pavement, learning what amends are about
Knocking on some old doors, trying to fix the broken glass
Apologizing to the ghosts living in my past
Verse 4
My boy sat beside the telephone through every wasted year
An eight-year-old just holding back a million bitter tears
I damaged him so deep, left scars that time can't hide
While he grew into a man with a heavy heart inside
He never gave up hope on a father in the dark
Patiently waiting for the day I'd find the spark
Gave up his own youth just waiting on my call
And he stood right by the gate when I finally broke the wall
Chorus 3
And I ran straight into the fire, fought a war inside my head
Drowned my blessings in the bottle, left a trail of what was dead
But when the sky fell total black, and I lost my mind and name
Six hands reached through the wreckage, and they pulled me from the flame
My mama built the foundation, my true wife walked the mud
My son stood waiting at the gate, they gave me all their blood
Outro
I ain't fully healed, but I'm standing on my feet
Sober in the daylight, walking down a brand new street
Look at my left side, look at my right
The ones who never left me are still standing in the light
But my sister's still praying, she's still fighting in the dark
Reaching for my soul, trying to keep alive the spark
Yeah, she's still trying to save me...
Mama built the foundation
True wife walked through the mud
And my boy... my boy just kept on hoping
Yeah, the storm is finally over...
I'm finally coming home.

Gumr
Gumr
Like all good storms, this song starts with a rumble.
Clenched fists, red cheeks are hints of things to come.
From her crib, a blue-eyed precious bundle
smiles ear to ear to let us know she’s done.
Chorus:
G-U-M-R
That smile of yours sure sets the bar!
Your toothless grin is all the proof I need.
That you’re the one who gets it done,
and makes some time for havin’ fun,
even though you look like you can’t read.
He skates back to the bench, the fans go crazy.
Their final shot for them was not to be.
His pearly whites are gone, he’s feeling hazy.
But that’s okay, the score was four to three!
Chorus:
Grandpa he worked hard when young and able.
Him and grandma had themselves a ride.
But when he set his teeth there on the table,
my eyes bugged out as I was terrified!
Chorus:

Dustboot
[Intro]
Oh, oh...
Yeah, I'm still standing
With the dust on my boots
[Verse 1]
I grew up where the backroads
Run straight into the sky
Where my mama taught me courage
And my daddy taught me why
I learned early that a hard road
Doesn't mean you turn around
Sometimes you gotta lose your way
Before you find solid ground
[Pre-Chorus]
I've had my share of broken dreams
I've cried where no one knew
But every scar became a story
And every story pulled me through
[Chorus]
I've got dust on my boots
And fire in my soul
I've been knocked down hard
But I won't let go
Let the thunder roll
Let the wild wind blow
I've got a heart full of scars
But I'm still on the road
Yeah, I'm still on the road
[Verse 2]
There was a time I trusted
A promise dressed in gold
He said he'd always love me
Then left me in the cold
I could've let that heartbreak
Turn my whole world gray
But I picked up my pieces
And walked myself away
[Pre-Chorus]
Now every mile behind me
Is a lesson I can use
And every door that closed before
Just gave me room to choose
[Chorus]
I've got dust on my boots
And fire in my soul
I've been knocked down hard
But I won't let go
Let the thunder roll
Let the wild wind blow
I've got a heart full of scars
But I'm still on the road
Yeah, I'm still on the road
[Bridge]
Turn the radio up
Let the six-string cry
There's a whole lot of living
Waiting on the other side
I don't need a perfect life
I just need a reason to ride
With the moon above my windshield
And the whole world open wide
[Instrumental Break]
Oh, let it roll
Yeah, let it roll
[Final Chorus]
I've got dust on my boots
And fire in my soul
I've been knocked down hard
But I won't let go
Let the thunder roll
Let the wild wind blow
I've got a heart full of scars
And nowhere left to go
But forward, forward
That's the only road I know
[Outro]
Dust on my boots
Fire in my soul
Still got miles to go
And I'm ready to roll
Oh, oh...
Yeah, I'm still standing

Fool's Gold Paradise
Crying up the mountain, you don't know you're halfway there
Head tucked in your hands you're asking why
Take a ticket from a stranger
To a fool's gold paradise
You can't see that his heaven
Is a prison in disguise
Sitting alone on a Saturday, you ask yourself again
Why it is you stay inside yourself
Not letting anybody in
Mask the pain with a bottle
Watch the world from a corner of the bar
Enter perfect stranger, on the perfect night
He asks you to believe in magic
That's what he calls his morning flight
You don't see your inner beauty
Or that your worth so much more
So, you settle for the sidelines
And ignore the open door
Crying up the mountain, you don't know you're halfway there
Head tucked in your hands you're asking why
Take a ticket from a stranger
To a fool's gold paradise
You can't see that his heaven
Is a prison in disguise
You're almost seventeen, my friend
All your life you've been alone
Never seemed to quite fit in
Enter perfect, broken man
Who offers you the world
He tells you to believe in magic
How rapidly 17 turns 40
You don't see the love in front of you
The friends who call you strong
Or the difference that you make
So, you don't see this is wrong
Crying up the mountain, you don't know you're halfway there
Head tucked in your hands you're asking why
Take a ticket from a stranger
To a fool's gold paradise
You can't see that his heaven
Is a prison in disguise
I've had a run with fool's gold
What I didn't understand
Was that the treasure I climbed for
Was already in my hand
So, I traded my blessings
For an imaginary high
Crying up the mountain, you don't know you're halfway there
Head tucked in your hands you're asking why
Take a ticket from a stranger
To a fool's gold paradise
You can't see that his heaven
Is a prison in disguise
You can't see that his heaven
Is a prison in disguise
You can't see that his heaven
Is a prison in disguise
It's a prison in disguise
In disguise
In disguise
Head tucked in your hands you're asking why
Take a ticket from a stranger
To a fool's gold paradise
You can't see that his heaven
Is a prison in disguise
Sitting alone on a Saturday, you ask yourself again

Pieces of me
Verse 1
I used to wear myself so tightly
Like I had to be someone to belong
Smiling through things I didn’t believe in
Just to prove I was never wrong
But somewhere in the noise I lost me
In all the voices telling me who to be
I kept giving pieces away
Until there was nothing left I could see
Pre-Chorus
And I didn’t know it then
But breaking was beginning
Chorus
I had to lose myself
To find who I am
Fall apart in my own hands
Just to understand
That everything I needed
Was buried underneath the pain
I had to lose myself
To find me again
Verse 2
I stopped chasing perfect answers
Stopped trying to fit every mold
Started listening to the quiet
That I used to ignore and hold
And in the silence I remembered
There was a voice I used to know
It didn’t ask me to be better
It just asked me to come home
Bridge
If I had never broken
I would’ve never seen
That the version I was searching for
Was already inside of me
Final Chorus
I had to lose myself
To find who I am
Not in pieces I gave away
But in who I am again
I used to wear myself so tightly
Like I had to be someone to belong
Smiling through things I didn’t believe in
Just to prove I was never wrong
But somewhere in the noise I lost me
In all the voices telling me who to be
I kept giving pieces away
Until there was nothing left I could see
Pre-Chorus
And I didn’t know it then

THAT SUDDEN GRIN
THAT SUDDEN GRIN
His name was Jim; he was bald and slim.
Iraqi-vet cabbie with a big heart.
When she hopped in, he flashed that sudden grin.
She smiled back; she could feel it all start.
Love hangs in that balance of that sudden grin.
Her name was Nancy, she took a fancy
To turning men on to watch them burn.
She’d seen it all but to her surprise
His grin somehow made her world take a turn.
Love hangs in the balance of that sudden grin.
When the baby came, she gave it Jim’s name.
But one day her old fancy gave her a call.
And when Jim read her goodbye note,
He felt his heart take a long fall.
He turned around; his thoughts grew cold.
Headed slowly back home and stumbled in.
He opened the door and felt his spirit soar
When his son flashed that sudden grin.
Love hangs in the balance of that sudden grin.
His name was Jim; he was bald and slim.
Iraqi-vet cabbie with a big heart.
When she hopped in, he flashed that sudden grin.
She smiled back; she could feel it all start.
Love hangs in that balance of that sudden grin.

Old school fist new school kiss
I wanna be me but need a change
Sometimes I hit some things I miss
Taking my time gotta get this right
Old school fist with a new school kiss
My head is pulled in different directions
I know what is right and wrong
But these days the lines are so blurred
Good stay silent while the bad talk long
I wanna quit it all and start brand new
Groundhog has me stressed all day
Only sleep two hours each night
There’s got to be a better way
I know who I am but second guess
What I think and feel
Blessed life that I curse all the time
Is my heart broken or head not real
Sometimes I don’t get what you and I do
I love all people but they make me mad
Because all we do is judge and hurt
Our worlds problems make me sad
And it’s always the same
What are we to do
Head down move on
History is back now we rue
Except the haves
They just laugh and sue
Sometimes I hit some things I miss
Taking my time gotta get this right
Old school fist with a new school kiss
My head is pulled in different directions
I know what is right and wrong
But these days the lines are so blurred
Good stay silent while the bad talk long

Big boys don't cry
(Chorus)
Mama lied
Big boys do cry
She said be a man
Big boys don't cry
Verse 1
Daddy left before I turned six
Mama did her best, never let it show
Told me to be strong for her
Said that's just how it goes
I learned to bite it down early
Learned to keep my face real still
Every time I wanted to break
I just clenched my jaw and stood still
Verse 2
Twenty years of holding steady
Twenty years of "I'm alright"
Then she passed this April
And I broke down that night
Standing at the graveside
Something cracked I can't explain
All that armor she gave me
Wasn't strong, it was just pain
Bridge
Maybe she was scared for me
Maybe that's the only way she knew
Handed down from her own mother
Some old lie passed on like it's true
I'm done carrying what she gave me
Gonna feel it, let it out
That's not weak, that's just human
That's what love is all about
Final Chorus
Mama lied
Big boys do cry
She said be a man
Guess she got it wrong
Big boys do cry
Mama lied
Big boys do cry
She said be a man
Big boys don't cry

Any Other Way
Verse 1:
There's a light in my darkness,
no one sees but me.
It's my greatest comfort,
but it will never set me free.
It taps me on the shoulder,
and whispers in my ear.
It tells me it's alright,
then brings me right back here.
Chorus:
If I could wish for one thing,
it would be to say goodbye.
But I need the light to bathe me
just one more precious time.
I peer deep into the shadows
looking for the ray
of the one thing I'm forbidden;
any other way.
Verse 2:
I feel like running towards it,
It draws me ever near.
It offers only comfort,
and then it disappears.
There’s no one I can go to;
No place that I can hide.
It teases like a savior,
and is killing me inside.
Chorus:
If I could wish for one thing,
it would be to say goodbye.
But I need the light to bathe me
just one more precious time.
I peer deep into the shadows
looking for the ray
of the one thing I'm forbidden;
any other way.

Son of a Factory Man
SON OF A FACTORY MAN
They say I was born on overtime.
Daddy was working the night shift.
And like my hardworking father
I’m proud I’m a working stiff.
And just like Daddy I proudly stand-
The son of a factory man.
Worked the mills since I was a kid.
Sweating the aches, my backbone bent.
I made a life and a family.
Paid the bills, the food, the rent.
And just like Daddy I proudly stand-
The son of a factory man.
The calluses come and go.
Some days are long and slow.
Still my life is full, and then some.
And there are times, I swear,
I hear his voice in the factory air,
As the machines roll and hum.
Daddy told me, “Son, never measure
Your life by just the dollar sign.”
He sipped his beer, then smiled and said,
“Just take a good look at mine.”
And just like Daddy I proudly stand-
The son of a factory man.
They say I was born on overtime.
Daddy was working the night shift.
And like my hardworking father
I’m proud I’m a working stiff.
And just like Daddy I proudly stand-

Starlight
stars(×2)
everyone tryna to get close to the clouds
Clouds(×2)
How can you achieve your dreams if you keep letting them steams bring you down
Stop looking and start shining
Bring down the veil and show them
Cause you're the starlight
Star light
You've always been one
And you're called to be more!!!
(Cause you're a star light,
Star light )×2
Why couldn't it just remain the same?
Why did you have to break it whole
Oh oh oh!!
Oh oh oh oh
We've got it stop
We've got to make a change
We've to be light
Cause we are starlight
everyone tryna to get close to the clouds
Clouds(×2)
How can you achieve your dreams if you keep letting them steams bring you down
Stop looking and start shining

Red dust on my skin
ENGLISH
I travel through a crimson sea of empty, hollow space,
Pits of sand that someday will all cave in.
The sky is stained with poison,
Empty of stars,
Clouded like the way you love.
Like the red dust that keeps my heart alive,
I follow trails of breadcrumbs leading me to pain.
Close my eyes, and in a bath of ink I carve your name
In tiny letters.
You're only a fragment of who you could have been.
I'm a slave to your broken way of loving.
Even when you tell me you love me,
I'm no cowboy,
Roaming barren plains in search of your sun.
I wander down the shoreline looking for something worth keeping,
When I find myself down in the hole.
And maybe,
I won't regret the choices that decide the man I'll be.
No, no, no.
I'm not who I am.
I look into the mirror, lost because of you.
I don't look up at the stars,
I look around instead.
Is it the shine inside your eyes, or just the coins,
That make me feel I'm worth something?
Too much of a coward to love,
Yet brave enough to let you walk away.
I don't know what I'm searching for,
'Cause I'm where the sun begins to fade.
I'm a drifter, riding from town to town,
Like the gunslinger I pretend to be.
I've got no bullets,
No one standing by my side,
red dust on my skin
Only an old streak of luck that's slowly slipping away.
I don't drown myself in addictions,
Because I'd never grow tired of you.
Maybe
I don't know who I am,
Just another slave to your love.
I know the treasure that I'm chasing,
Because the sun has always led me there.
Slowly I drown in a sea of ink across my arm
Until you come back for my wounds.
Save me, even if you're my executioner.
In you I find the sand
And the landscape that brings me peace.
I've been waiting in this line for far too long.
Now it's only the sun and me.
Everything that once surrounded me
Has already left.
I know what I'm searching for,
Even if I don't know who I am.
Wherever you ask me to go,
You know that's where I'll be.
Where the sun burns hotter
Than the way I imagine your scent.

Dubai
Yeah-yeah…
Golden nights…
Dubai vibes…
Oooh-oh-oh!
[Verse 1]
Champagne shining on the rooftop,
City glowing like a crown.
High heels walking through the lobby,
Everybody looking now.
Silk dresses, diamonds flashing,
Engines roaring down the lane.
Money talks in every language,
Power running through the veins.
Palm trees dancing by the ocean,
Private parties every night.
In Dubai we chase the feeling,
Living faster than the light.
[Pre-Chorus]
Gold on my wrist, stars in my eyes,
Tonight we’re touching paradise.
No limits, no fear, no goodbye,
We were born to live this life!
[Chorus]
I’m flying to Dubai!
I’m flying to Dubai!
I’m flying to Dubai!
To see the eastern sunrise high!
And show the world my name,
Like fire inside the flame.
Dubai! Dubai!
Tonight we shine above the sky!
Hey!
Money, lights, desire!
Hey!
Everything is taking us higher!
Dubai!
Oh-oh-oh-oh!
Dubai!
The city where dreams come alive!
[Verse 2]
Beautiful women dressed in silver,
Millionaires in tailored black.
Every smile looks like a secret,
Every night no turning back.
Skyline burning in the midnight,
Luxury beneath the stars.
From the desert to the penthouse,
We forget who we really are.
Fast cars waiting by the coastline,
Golden sand beneath our feet.
Every heartbeat sounds expensive,
Every kiss tastes bittersweet.
[Pre-Chorus]
Gold on my wrist, stars in my eyes,
Tonight we’re touching paradise.
No limits, no fear, no goodbye,
We were born to live this life!
[Chorus]
I’m flying to Dubai!
I’m flying to Dubai!
I’m flying to Dubai!
To see the eastern sunrise high!
And show the world my name,

Dubai! Dubai!
Tonight we shine above the sky!
[Bridge]
Oooooh…
Lights reflecting in the sea…
Oooooh…
This is where we’re meant to be…
One more night, one more chance,
Everybody lost in dance!
[Final]
I’m flying to Dubai!
I’m flying to Dubai!
I’m flying to Dubai!
Where golden dreams will never die!
We came to rule the night,
To burn like city lights!
Dubai! Dubai!
Forever young beneath the sky!
Hey!
Raise your glasses high!
Hey!
Tonight we own the paradise!
Dubai!
Oh-oh-oh-oh!

Pas assez
Tu disais que j’étais pas assez
Pas assez riche
Pas assez carré
Tu comptais tout
Même mes défauts
Tu cochais des cases sur ma peau
Mais quand je t’aimais sans calculer
C’est toi qui voulais t’échapper
J’ai vu ton cœur faire ses valises
Avant même que tu me les dises
J’ai donné mon âme sans contrat
Toi tu pensais déjà à un autre bras
Tu changeais d’plan
Tu changeais d’voix
Comme si j’étais qu’un banc d’essai pour toi
Mais l’amour vrai ne se remplace pas
Un jour tu comprendras ça
Quand tu verras qu’aucun regard
T’aimera comme je l’faisais
Trop tard (oh-oh)
Tu disais “on verra plus tardâ€
Mais plus tard
T’avais déjà pris l’train du départ
T’avais mis mon numéro en silence
Pendant que j’criais dans l’absence
J’me refais le film
Les soirées
Tes messages lus
Jamais envoyés
Tu voulais tout
Sauf mes blessures
Tu voulais le corps
Pas le futur
J’ai donné mon âme sans contrat

Trop tard (oh-oh)
Un jour tu chercheras mon prénom
Dans un parfum
Dans une chanson
Tu t’rappelleras comment j’pardonnais

The Bed You Made
The Bed You Made
Written by: Shayna Nagel
2022-1212
[1st Verse]
In shadows cast by selfish dreams,
Beneath the lies, behind the scenes,
A man with tired, restless eyes,
Beneath the weight of empty skies.
He sought in fading, hollow nights,
A stolen touch, a false delight,
But in each secret, stolen kiss,
He lost the warmth of what he'd miss.
[Chorus]
The bed you made, a fortress of regret,
An empty space where love’s regret is set,
You turned away the one who stayed,
Now all that’s left is the bed you made.
[2nd Verse]
Her laughter was his dawn’s first light,
The love that made the dark feel right,
But webs of lies, too thick to see,
Entwined your soul in misery.
Each night you chased a ghost of thrill,
While morning broke with colder still,
No strangers touch, no passing kiss,
Could match the peace she used to give.
[Chorus]
The bed you made, a fortress of regret,
An empty space where love’s regret is set,
You turned away the one who stayed,
Now all that’s left is the bed you made.
[Bridge]
She left behind the silent pain,
A love once pure, now stained with shame,
No words could mend what’s torn apart,
Just echoes of a broken heart.
Now emptiness consumes the night,
A ghost of love, a fading light,
You gambled all for temporary bliss,
And lost the one you’ll always miss.
[Chorus]
The bed you made, a fortress of regret,
An empty space where love’s regret is set,
You turned away the one who stayed,
Now all that’s left is the bed you made.
[Outro]
Alone you sit in shadows deep,
A heart betrayed, a soul to keep,
The weight of what you’ve thrown away,
Lingers in the bed you made.

[1st Verse]
In shadows cast by selfish dreams,
Beneath the lies, behind the scenes,
A man with tired, restless eyes,
Beneath the weight of empty skies.
He sought in fading, hollow nights,
A stolen touch, a false delight,
But in each secret, stolen kiss,
He lost the warmth of what he'd miss.
[Chorus]
The bed you made, a fortress of regret,
An empty space where love’s regret is set,
You turned away the one who stayed,
Now all that’s left is the bed you made.
[2nd Verse]
Her laughter was his dawn’s first light,
The love that made the dark feel right,
But webs of lies, too thick to see,
Entwined your soul in misery.
Each night you chased a ghost of thrill,
While morning broke with colder still,
No strangers touch, no passing kiss,
Could match the peace she used to give.
[Chorus]
The bed you made, a fortress of regret,
An empty space where love’s regret is set,
You turned away the one who stayed,
Now all that’s left is the bed you made.
[Bridge]
She left behind the silent pain,
A love once pure, now stained with shame,
No words could mend what’s torn apart,
Just echoes of a broken heart.
Now emptiness consumes the night,
A ghost of love, a fading light,
You gambled all for temporary bliss,
And lost the one you’ll always miss.
[Chorus]
The bed you made, a fortress of regret,
An empty space where love’s regret is set,
You turned away the one who stayed,
Now all that’s left is the bed you made.
[Outro]
Alone you sit in shadows deep,
A heart betrayed, a soul to keep,
The weight of what you’ve thrown away,
Lingers in the bed you made.
Stomp, stomp into Friday night
Verse 1
Five o'clock Friday night
Bar is hummin', feel alright
Toe-tappin' tunes a jukebox high
Weekend vibes, this nights mine
Get off the phone, come talk to me
Swing around, let's break free
Rules and work gone for now
Come on darlin', show 'em how
Chorus
Stomp, stomp, here we go
Pour that beer and watch it flow
Stomp, stomp, keepin' time
Everybody dancing in a line
Stomp - slide into Friday night
This crowd's got me feelin' just right
Neon lights and bottles clink
No more workin', don't wanna think
Verse 2
Morning it'll come soon enough
Tonight we're gonna live it up
Grab me a pizza, have another shot
Turn it up, give it all we've got
Hold me tight, don't let me go
Feel that rhythm steal the show
Boots on wood and hands up high
We're gonna dance till morning light
Chorus
Stomp, stomp here we go
Pour that beer and watch it flow
Stomp, stomp, keepin' time
Everybody dancing in a line
Stomp - slide into Friday night
This crowd's got me feelin' just right
Neon lights and bottles clink
No more workin', don't wanna think
Bridge
All week long we've been runnin' hard
Punchin' clocks and playin' our part
This band's loud and our worries walk
Friday night's for dance and talk
Final Chorus
Stomp stomp here we go
Pour that beer and watch it flow
Stomp, stomp, keepin' time
Everybody dancing in a line
Stomp - slide into Friday night
This crowd's got me feelin' just right
Raise 'em up and sing along
Friday night's where we belong
