Just a chorus
You say I’ll never find a love like you
How sad that it would be if it was true
What I didn’t understand
You meant I’ll never find a man
Who loves to hurt me quite the way you do
How sad that it would be if it was true
What I didn’t understand
You meant I’ll never find a man
Who loves to hurt me quite the way you do
Anonymous
I need his body in ways
Green eyes, nice teeth
Looking deep in my eyes
I can feel my next mistake
I think it's time for me to leave this mf place
But if you can keep a secret nobody has to know
What we doing on the low
I need you to keep this thing between me and you
Keep it anonymous ×4
Now it's 3 in the morning
You know by time I gotta take my leave
Even though you know I'm still horny
You know I'm the type to get naked and fuck up what I got cause it's what I never had
I'm sorry I know I have my
flaws and habits
I think it's time for me to leave this mf place
But if you can keep a secret nobody has to know
What we doing on the low
I need you to keep this thing between me and you
Keep it anonymous 4
Green eyes, nice teeth

Happy
I wonder how many goodbyes you’re gonna say,
Running into escape.
I wish you knew
That we’re just two dreamers
Preparing for the fall.
All I ever ask:
Will you trust me once?
The tides of fate were made to break
What we built and what we left.
My tears are a single glance away.
What’s left of my shame?
Maybe one day we’ll meet again,
And I’ll tell you that I still love.
I’m such a creep,
I’ll wait for you till dusk turns bright.
Maybe my ashes will grow old,
Sitting on the path,
Lonely.
The moon was cold, but the skies were clear.
It’s nothing new for me, so once again I’ll sear,
Cremated in the fragrance of memories —
Your memories.
All I hold dear are your memories.
Someday soon
I’ll be dust again,
Wash the room
In these empty swings.
A flower will bloom,
And you’ll be loved again
By someone new.
You deserved to be
Happy.

Ever since you left
It's been three weeks
Since you left me
Things have gotten worse
Another sleepless night
Feels like I've been cursed.
Like a candle without a flame
I'm just sitting collecting dust
And I know it's all my fault
I betrayed your trust.
Ever since you left me
This world seems so black
And I know you can't help me
But I just want you back
I fall to my knees
Calling out your name
Knowing that my life
Will never be the same
Like a raging hurricane
You charged out that door
And left everything we had
Strewn across the floor
Ever since you left me
This world seems so black
And I know you can't help me
But I just want you back
I've had plenty time to think
And it's driving me demented
If I hadn't taken all that drink
This could have been prevented.
I'm not saying we can fix it
I just want you to know
I'll be sorry til the day I die
That I ever let you go.
Ever since you left me
This world seems so black
And I know you can't help me
But I just want you back
I just want you back

"Cruise"
“Cruise”
Words by Kerry Mark Blackman
It was my first time on a cruise
I signed-up and paid my membership dues
Asked my lover to come but was refused
There was so much fun and activities going on
I was amused
And a bit confused by all of the rules
Ended up at a dinner table
There was a man and woman couple
The man had a short fuse
Clearly he had had too much booze
And the woman was clearly being emotionally abused
She had the blues
And there were clues
She looked even physically bruised
As they argued I thought I could come up with a ruse
To step in to diffuse
But instead, I simply decided to excuse
Walked over to the ocean and saw so many beautiful fish
There were schools
The colors of the ocean were a few different hues
Looked around at the people but didn't see many singles
Saw mostly two's
But when I looked up
Saw a beautiful woman and was bemused
But she wasn't as enthused
I thought to myself, a cruise is such a great place I could really use
To forget about everything including the news
Take a long snooze
Or just walk around and peruse
Maybe even find me a new muse

The Trouble
I put my phone in the freezer
Wore two different shoes to work
Spilled spaghetti on my computer
Stabbed my cheek with a spork
I locked my keys in the pickup
That was parked right beside my car
Tripped, walking over a speed bump
Now I’m lost in a park
The breeze here is so gentle, how it carries the sweet call of birds
Why do I feel like I'm walkin' through a poem and bein' smacked by the words?
I’d like to say I don’t know what’s going on with me lately but that would be untrue
My friends think it’s comical
My parents think it’s medical
But I know the trouble with me is you
Wore my shirt backwards
To an appointment I didn’t have
Remembered that I drove there After I pulled away in the cab
I’d like to say I don’t know what’s going on with me lately but that would be untrue
My doctor thinks it’s preventable
My grandma said I need vegetables
But I know the trouble with me is you
I know the ground is nowhere near my feet, I'm hoverin' far above
Something's goin' on with my heart beat, could this trouble be love?
I stopped at a green light
Stood in line behind a mannequin
Didn’t sleep a wink last night
Wonderin’ when I’ll see you again
I’d like to say I don’t know what’s going on with me lately but that would be untrue
My heart tells me it’s inevitable
You make me feel so wonderful
Yeah I know the trouble with me is you
Yeah you’re trouble
My trouble
Wore two different shoes to work
Spilled spaghetti on my computer
Stabbed my cheek with a spork
I locked my keys in the pickup
That was parked right beside my car

I GOT TODAY
[Verse 1]
She used to worry 'bout the little things,
Bills on the table, broken wings,
Never knew she'd miss those ordinary days,
Now she'd give anything just to have them back again.
There's a pill beside the bed tonight,
A photograph underneath the light,
She whispers, “Lord, I don't need much...”
Just one more morning, one more touch.
[Pre-Chorus]
Funny how we never know
What we're holding till we let it go...
[Chorus]
I got today, I got today,
And that's enough for me.
I got your hand, I got your smile,
I got you here with me.
I won't waste another minute
Wishing life away,
Tomorrow isn't promised,
But I got today.
Oh, I got today.
[Verse 2]
He sits beside her, holding her hand,
Saying, “We'll get through this somehow, we can.”
She looks at him and starts to smile,
“Baby, just stay with me a little while.”
They talk about the things they never did,
Places they dreamed of when they were kids,
Then she says, “Don't be afraid...”
“Love me while I'm here today.”
[Pre-Chorus]
Funny how the smallest things
Can mean everything...
[Chorus]
I got today, I got today,
And that's enough for me.
I got your hand, I got your smile,
I got you here with me.
I won't waste another minute
Wishing life away,
Tomorrow isn't promised,
But I got today.
[Bridge]
Call your mama, tell her you love her,
Hold somebody a little longer,
Say “I'm sorry,” say “I forgive,”
Don't wait for tomorrow to start living.
[Final Chorus]
I got today, I got today,
So I'm gonna make it count.
I'm gonna laugh, I'm gonna love,
I'm gonna sing it loud.
And if tomorrow takes me
Where I cannot stay,
I'll leave this world knowing
I didn't waste today.
[Outro]
I got today...
I got your love...
I got today...
And that's enough.

Behind My Door
verse 1
I learned to recognize the seasons
By the sunlight on my bedroom wall
Another year kept passing by me
And I didn't notice it at all
I heard the laughter through my window
I heard the world outside my room
While everybody else kept growing
I was learning how to hide the truth
Pre-Chorus
Mama said, "Come sit beside us"
Daddy said, "You'll be okay"
But I couldn't find the words to tell them
Why I kept pushing life away
Chorus
I'm the girl behind the closed door
Crying where nobody can see
Watching people live their stories
While my story's happening without me
And my family's hearts are breaking
Because they don't know what to do
I'm not trying to be distant
I'm just fighting battles they can't see me going through
Verse 2
My phone became my only window
Technology became my friend
I wrote my tears into my music
And played them back again and again
I watched my dreams collect like dust
On shelves I never thought I'd clean
I became a stranger to myself
And forgot the girl I used to be
Bridge
Do they cry when I'm sleeping?
Do they pray when I'm alone?
Do they wonder where their daughter went?
Even when I'm still at home
I never wanted them to worry
I never wanted them to hurt
But sometimes pain becomes so heavy
You forget what happiness is worth
Final Chorus
I'm the girl behind the closed door
Trying to find myself again
Turning all my tears into melodies
And all my scars into a hymn
Maybe one day I'll stop hiding
Maybe one day I'll finally heal
But until then, I'll keep on singing
Because music is the only thing that makes me feel
I learned to recognize the seasons
By the sunlight on my bedroom wall
Another year kept passing by me
And I didn't notice it at all
I heard the laughter through my window
I heard the world outside my room

I was learning how to hide the truth

Any Other Way
Verse 1:
There's a light in my darkness,
no one sees but me.
It's my greatest comfort,
but it will never set me free.
It taps me on the shoulder,
and whispers in my ear.
It tells me it's alright,
then brings me right back here.
Chorus:
If I could wish for one thing,
it would be to say goodbye.
But I need the light to bathe me
just one more precious time.
I peer deep into the shadows
looking for the ray
of the one thing I'm forbidden;
any other way.
Verse 2:
I feel like running towards it,
It draws me ever near.
It offers only comfort,
and then it disappears.
There’s no one I can go to;
No place that I can hide.
It teases like a savior,
and is killing me inside.
Chorus:
If I could wish for one thing,
it would be to say goodbye.
But I need the light to bathe me
just one more precious time.
I peer deep into the shadows
looking for the ray
of the one thing I'm forbidden;
any other way.
I peer deep into the shadows
looking for the ray
of the one thing I'm forbidden;
any other way.
The one thing I'm forbidden; any other way.
Any other way.
Any other way.

Red dust on my skin
ENGLISH
I travel through a crimson sea of empty, hollow space,
Pits of sand that someday will all cave in.
The sky is stained with poison,
Empty of stars,
Clouded like the way you love.
Like the red dust that keeps my heart alive,
I follow trails of breadcrumbs leading me to pain.
Close my eyes, and in a bath of ink I carve your name
In tiny letters.
You're only a fragment of who you could have been.
I'm a slave to your broken way of loving.
Even when you tell me you love me,
I'm no cowboy,
Roaming barren plains in search of your sun.
I wander down the shoreline looking for something worth keeping,
When I find myself down in the hole.
And maybe,
I won't regret the choices that decide the man I'll be.
No, no, no.
I'm not who I am.
I look into the mirror, lost because of you.
I don't look up at the stars,
I look around instead.
Is it the shine inside your eyes, or just the coins,
That make me feel I'm worth something?
Too much of a coward to love,
Yet brave enough to let you walk away.
I don't know what I'm searching for,
'Cause I'm where the sun begins to fade.
I'm a drifter, riding from town to town,
Like the gunslinger I pretend to be.
I've got no bullets,
No one standing by my side,
red dust on my skin
Only an old streak of luck that's slowly slipping away.
I don't drown myself in addictions,
Because I'd never grow tired of you.
Maybe
I don't know who I am,
Just another slave to your love.
I know the treasure that I'm chasing,
Because the sun has always led me there.
Slowly I drown in a sea of ink across my arm
Until you come back for my wounds.
Save me, even if you're my executioner.
In you I find the sand
And the landscape that brings me peace.
I've been waiting in this line for far too long.
Now it's only the sun and me.
Everything that once surrounded me
Has already left.
I know what I'm searching for,
Even if I don't know who I am.
Wherever you ask me to go,
You know that's where I'll be.
Where the sun burns hotter
Than the way I imagine your scent.

Dubai
Yeah-yeah…
Golden nights…
Dubai vibes…
Oooh-oh-oh!
[Verse 1]
Champagne shining on the rooftop,
City glowing like a crown.
High heels walking through the lobby,
Everybody looking now.
Silk dresses, diamonds flashing,
Engines roaring down the lane.
Money talks in every language,
Power running through the veins.
Palm trees dancing by the ocean,
Private parties every night.
In Dubai we chase the feeling,
Living faster than the light.
[Pre-Chorus]
Gold on my wrist, stars in my eyes,
Tonight we’re touching paradise.
No limits, no fear, no goodbye,
We were born to live this life!
[Chorus]
I’m flying to Dubai!
I’m flying to Dubai!
I’m flying to Dubai!
To see the eastern sunrise high!
And show the world my name,
Like fire inside the flame.
Dubai! Dubai!
Tonight we shine above the sky!
Hey!
Money, lights, desire!
Hey!
Everything is taking us higher!
Dubai!
Oh-oh-oh-oh!
Dubai!
The city where dreams come alive!
[Verse 2]
Beautiful women dressed in silver,
Millionaires in tailored black.
Every smile looks like a secret,
Every night no turning back.
Skyline burning in the midnight,
Luxury beneath the stars.
From the desert to the penthouse,
We forget who we really are.
Fast cars waiting by the coastline,
Golden sand beneath our feet.
Every heartbeat sounds expensive,
Every kiss tastes bittersweet.
[Bridge]
Oooooh…
Lights reflecting in the sea…
Oooooh…
This is where we’re meant to be…
One more night, one more chance,
Everybody lost in dance!
[Final]
I’m flying to Dubai!
I’m flying to Dubai!
I’m flying to Dubai!
Where golden dreams will never die!
We came to rule the night,
To burn like city lights!
Dubai! Dubai!
Forever young beneath the sky!
Hey!
Raise your glasses high!
Hey!
Tonight we own the paradise!
Dubai!
Oh-oh-oh-oh!
Dubai!
Golden nights…
Dubai vibes…
Oooh-oh-oh!

Hey!
Money, lights, desire!
Hey!
Everything is taking us higher!
Dubai!
Oh-oh-oh-oh!
Dubai!
The city where dreams come alive!
[Verse 2]
Beautiful women dressed in silver,
Millionaires in tailored black.
Every smile looks like a secret,
Every night no turning back.
Skyline burning in the midnight,
Luxury beneath the stars.
From the desert to the penthouse,
We forget who we really are.
Fast cars waiting by the coastline,
Golden sand beneath our feet.
Every heartbeat sounds expensive,
Every kiss tastes bittersweet.
[Bridge]
Oooooh…
Lights reflecting in the sea…
Oooooh…
This is where we’re meant to be…
One more night, one more chance,
Everybody lost in dance!
[Final]
I’m flying to Dubai!
I’m flying to Dubai!
I’m flying to Dubai!
Where golden dreams will never die!
We came to rule the night,
To burn like city lights!
Dubai! Dubai!
Forever young beneath the sky!
Hey!
Raise your glasses high!
Hey!
Tonight we own the paradise!
Dubai!
Oh-oh-oh-oh!
Dubai!
The Bed You Made
The Bed You Made
Written by: Shayna Nagel
2022-1212
[1st Verse]
In shadows cast by selfish dreams,
Beneath the lies, behind the scenes,
A man with tired, restless eyes,
Beneath the weight of empty skies.
He sought in fading, hollow nights,
A stolen touch, a false delight,
But in each secret, stolen kiss,
He lost the warmth of what he'd miss.
[Chorus]
The bed you made, a fortress of regret,
An empty space where love’s regret is set,
You turned away the one who stayed,
Now all that’s left is the bed you made.
[2nd Verse]
Her laughter was his dawn’s first light,
The love that made the dark feel right,
But webs of lies, too thick to see,
Entwined your soul in misery.
Each night you chased a ghost of thrill,
While morning broke with colder still,
No strangers touch, no passing kiss,
Could match the peace she used to give.
[Chorus]
The bed you made, a fortress of regret,
An empty space where love’s regret is set,
You turned away the one who stayed,
Now all that’s left is the bed you made.
[Bridge]
She left behind the silent pain,
A love once pure, now stained with shame,
No words could mend what’s torn apart,
Just echoes of a broken heart.
Now emptiness consumes the night,
A ghost of love, a fading light,
You gambled all for temporary bliss,
And lost the one you’ll always miss.
[Chorus]
The bed you made, a fortress of regret,
An empty space where love’s regret is set,
You turned away the one who stayed,
Now all that’s left is the bed you made.
[Outro]
Alone you sit in shadows deep,
A heart betrayed, a soul to keep,
The weight of what you’ve thrown away,
Lingers in the bed you made.

déjà rêvé
Verse 1
It's the end of the year
Persephone's wish for our fallout to commence forever here
For the lonesome period
A stable time, unclear
A lesson of truths, and wishing that I could picture your face
Believe me, I'm not that way
Pre Chorus
And would
Would you hold on to the memories that we once shared?
That we once wanted
And could
Could you believe that I am no longer within my past?
More so, I'm on the right path but
Chorus
Everything changes when you're underneath
I could conjure up a dream, everlasting
Where we'd be together, a moment in time
But you're not around for the hope I can't find
I try to believe that it's all for the better
A painful reminder that I'm just untethered
A constant in time, something I can't construct
But we're passing by like a dream that I lost with you
With me
Déjà vu or déjà rêvé
Verse 2
I watch from the sky
A tainted perception from behind a lens coated in mystery
Dissociating from here
Was I ever right?
I recall your image, but in a matter of seconds you fade
Am I even awake?
Pre Chorus
And would
Would I be able to materialize you within my dreams?
Or would I hit reality
And could
Could it just be that you were something I had to create?
To unseal my own fate, cause
Chorus
Everything changes when you're underneath
I could conjure up a dream, everlasting
Where we'd be together, a moment in time
But you're not around for the hope I can't find
I try to assemble a world in my mind
Where you might be real and not destined a lie
A figure of speech, something I can't construct
But we're falling free like a dream that's I've lost with you
With me
Déjà vu or déjà rêvé
Bridge
I can see you walking towards the night
I can see you walking towards the light
I can feel you're no longer in my life
I can't see you no further with my eyes
I can see you walking towards the night
I can see you walking towards the light
I can feel you're no longer in my life
I can't see you no further with my eyes
Outro
Hold me, soothe me, love me safely
I've been hoping, I've been waiting
I've been longing for your touch
I wish that we could be in love
Hold me, soothe me, love me gently
I've been waiting for a century
I'm broken, broken, broken still
I've been hoping, hoping that you're real

Karma's What You'll Get
[Verse]
Can’t enjoy coffee from my favorite mug
Or sit on the couch where we used to hug
No relaxing views of our pretty backyard,
Where fallen branches are scattered like scars
[Chorus]
Well, the girl in the mirror is still the girl you met
The one with inner strength you saw as a threat
It’s hard to believe, leavin’ the same man I met
It’s not what you wanted, but karma’s what you’ll get
Well the girl who’s leavin’s still the girl from day one
You tried to break my spirit but it’s not fully gone,
It’s hard to believe, leavin’ the same man I met
It’s not what you wanted, but karma’s what you’ll get
[Verse]
Surrounded by things that used to bring joy
Now nothin’ seems right except the road and my boy
The open road’s lit with a million stars
Leading me away from the man who left scars
[Chorus]
Well, the girl in the mirror is still the girl you met
The one with inner strength you saw as a threat
It’s hard to believe, leavin’ the same man I met
It’s not what you wanted, but karma’s what you’ll get
The girl who’s leavin’s still the girl from day one
With more space in my heart now that we’re done
It’s hard to believe, leavin’ the same man I met
It’s not what you wanted, but karma’s what you’ll get
[Bridge]
One day we will both move past this
All your excuses, making me nauseous
You’re why life came crashing to a halt
Yeah, we both know it’s all your fault
[Chorus]
Well, the girl in the mirror is still the girl you met
The one with inner strength you saw as a threat
It’s hard to believe, leavin’ the same man I met
It’s not what you wanted, but karma’s what you’ll get
The girl who’s leavin’s still the girl from day one
Who’s prides still intact, even though yours is long gone
It’s hard to believe, leavin’ the same man I met

Shards of Exile
The country I live in has streets for walls
Parasite prophets who preach in shopping malls
Wounds like rainbows, mouths like mines
Crystal skies crisscrossed by stolen power lines
A desert for soul, tears like tires
Mountains burning in eternal wildfires
Holy beggars who stab you with a smile
Sister, I’m bleeding with this blues of exile
I have these shards of exile in my hands
I was only trying to climb an old fence
Whenever I pray, whenever I try to serve
They send jolts of despair through my every nerve
My country of birth is choked by church bells
It’s learned to relish death in a thousand hells
Whether by slow indigestion of delicate foods
Or the relentless flashing of underage boobs
It’s got white rage seething under each monument
And instant absolution for all who repent
A millennium of torture folded in each secret file
Can you hear my bones cracking with this blues of exile?
I have these shards of exile in my hands
I swear I was acting in self-defence
Whenever I pray, whenever I try to serve
They send jolts of despair through my every nerve
I made four true friends in sunny Mozambique
An angel who danced all he couldn’t speak
A peasant drunk on metaphors, a femboy wed to weed
A trader who squandered both the fruit and the seed
All of them trying in their way to be free
Three are dead, one’s a refugee
Some birds get to fly, others fall down in style
I plummet to a crash with this blues of exile
I have these shards of exile in my hands
I feel like I’m sinking in shifting sands
Whenever I pray, whenever I try to serve
They send jolts of despair through my every nerve
My ancestors got chased from their chosen land
First to build empire then to make the world expand
In their secret books they found the meaning to it all
Scattered to gather the sparks of God’s fall
The meaning was consumed in a puff of chimney fire
Now they’re making pretty profits on war and barbed wire
Watering with bombs a land they call fertile
See my sparks slip away in this blues of exile
I have these shards of exile in my hands
I guess it it my form of penitence
Whenever I pray, whenever I try to serve
They send jolts of despair through my every nerve
I once knew a woman who would love me whole
I took her in her sleep and devoured her soul
She said: thank you for lifting that burden away
And died of a fever on my wedding day
Teaching me that love’s about evening the score
There have been others and there will be more
I warn them that my heart is fickle and vile
Still they ask me out to dance this blues of exile
I have these shards of exile in my hands
It must be by some overlord’s commands
Whenever I pray, whenever I try to serve
They send jolts of despair through my every nerve
There is nowhere to flee, nowhere to belong
Except for the offbeat of an old slave song
The quilombo’s on fire, under a bloody moon
Hound dogs score the jungle to sniff out the maroon
Whether in Pharaoh’s brick factory or in the plantation
You build yourself a prison and call it a nation
Soon there’s going to be nothing left to defile
Can you hear my chains rattle in this blues of exile?
I have these shards of exile in my hands
Is there someone out there who understands?
Whenever I pray, whenever I try to serve
They send jolts of despair through my every nerve
Parasite prophets who preach in shopping malls
Wounds like rainbows, mouths like mines

Harder Than I Thought It Would Be

Lord have mercy this is harder than I thought it would be (repeat)
You’re dragging me down in and out of the rain
With a dustbowl blowing up inside my brain
Sakes alive, this is harder than I thought it would be
Moonshine shimmer ain’t as bright as it used to be (repeat)
The sun fell down up behind the hill
The heat is gone but it burns me still
Moonshine shimmer ain’t as bright as it used to be
(Br) I’ve been grinding my gears
You’ve been running smooth
I’ve been stuck in the sand
You’ve been finding your groove
I’ve been swallowing tears
You’ve been soaking up sun
I’ve been playing the game
The one you’ve already won
Love under cover ain’t as warm as it ought to be (repeat)
I’ve got an ice sheet spreading underneath my bed
With a snowstorm brewing up inside my head
Love under cover ain’t as warm as it ought to be
Lord have mercy this is harder than I thought it would be (repeat)
You’re dragging me down in and out of the rain
With a dustbowl blowing up inside my brain
Lord have mercy this is harder than I thought it would be

You don’t need me now
Something’s wrong you don’t need me now
Stay out late I ask why and you start a row
New clothes perfumes cleaner whiter teeth
out late nights visiting sick elderly relative
You don’t care about our life together now
you need money you’ve spent all our cash
Telling lies saying it’s for a friend whose ill
You never ever ask me how I feel
I know you don’t need me now
signs you can’t deny anymore
I ask what’s wrong is it me ? are you sick
walking away never saying a thing
You say it’s late you need to get some sleep
face down in the pillow I hear you weep
I’m pretending, I’m asleep
I know you don’t need me now
You’re cold never give me a reason why
your phone rings the one you hide
The house it’s cold a feeling of gloom
pretend to read but as I enter the room
How much longer can this charade play out
your attitude to me leaves me in no doubt
When you’re ready to go you won’t tell me
I hope you’ll be OK then we’ll both be happy
Chorus
I know you’re going to leave me one day
waiting for your lover to come take you away
I’m in love with you I want you to be happy
Wish I could be the one to make it happen
Living close together not having your love
It’s like being alive without a beating heart
your icy cold emotion never a nice word
you’re happiness once meant my world

Rise Above (Beneath His Blood)
[Verse 1]
In shadows deep
Out comes the call (c'mon, y'all)
Among the wheat
They stand so tall
An angel spoke
In silent air (listen up, now)
A hidden strength
Beyond compare
[Verse 2]
Gather now
The few and fierce (ummhmm)
With just a horn
Cuts through our fear (Amen!)
Torches blaze (burnin' bright)
They light the way (show us the way)
You know our Lord
Will win the day (Glory! Hallelujah!)
[Chorus]
Sound the cry
Let freedom ring
Nothing stops
The song we sing
From the fear
To the flood
Rise above
Beneath His blood
[Bridge]
Battles clash
And our souls groan
Nightmares so long
Then rolls a stone
To free our hearts
We win the fight
Dark spirits fall
To holy light!
[Verse 3]
Symbols raised
In finest gold
Victory marked
In stories told
That name is known
Glory behold
His love and light
Forever shown!
[Chorus]
Sound the cry
Let freedom ring
Nothing stops
The song we sing!
From the fear
To the flood
Rise above
Beneath His blood!

The Bleeding Rose
The Bleeding Rose
What a power you once held
A rose once forgotten
Withered with time
Your flower spoke strong to this heart of mine
Your petals fall
Noticed by none at all
You become a mere piece of what you are
A beautiful peace of something not far
Your beauty still stands
No matter how wilted
Like an old friend
Lost in my mind
The world can be so unkind
I wish you would have lasted forever
I saw your growth
The power you displayed
It’s a simple reminder
That nothing is forever
The butterflies and bees
Skipped around with you to appease
Your bloom was incredible
As a light I didn’t think I’d find
You in your glory
What a sight to see
The buds of your kin
From the same plant within
You will not be forgotten
My natural friend
As I consider your time
You were never mine
You gave so much
But nothing is forever
My beautiful bleeding rose
What a power you once held
A rose once forgotten
Withered with time
Your flower spoke strong to this heart of mine
Your petals fall
Noticed by none at all
You become a mere piece of what you are
A beautiful peace of something not far
Your beauty still stands
No matter how wilted
Like an old friend
Lost in my mind

My natural friend
As I consider your time
You were never mine
You gave so much
But nothing is forever
My beautiful bleeding rose
Oh Lord not another war
Verse 1 Oh Lord, not another war,
Is that what they're aiming for? Our leaders rage behind closed doors,
While soldiers march to distant shores. They make their plans, then hide inside,
While others fight and bleed with pride.
Verse 2
World leaders cry out, "Set them free,"
While telling lies as policy.
"Freedom from tyranny," they roar
Yet soldiers die in silent war. They call the brave to fall in line,
Then bury truth beneath a shrine.
Spoken Chorus (calm, eerie tone)
They preach of peace...
But load their guns.
They start the war...
And we lose our sons.
(Sound cue: soft gunfire, fading bombs in distance)
Verse 3 Genocide written in the plan,
While peace protests are quickly banned. They speak of risk, of sacrifice,
But hide beneath their beds at night. The rich grow richer in disguise,
The brave are told it's noble to die
Verse 4
“Fight to the last man," they demand,
While hiding safe with bloodstained hands. "Boots on the ground!"... their battle cry,
While truth is lost in every lie.
TVs flash the front-line scenes,
But no one hears the soldiers scream.

Where you belong
Song:Where you belong
Penny for your thoughts, mind yonder beyond the city lights,Country girl stuck in a concrete jungle chasing dreams.
Chorus
Been gone for a while
This is where you belong,
Purple haze,horse riding
Milk straight from the source
Lazy sunsets and charokee nights
This is where you belong
Second verse
Acres of farm land in your name yet up the corporate ladder you go
Careful to lose yourself while trying to find yourself,a little bird told me you been tosing and turning at night.
(Back to chorus)
This is where you belong
Your Papa's pride, princess rides like a man, shoots straight and whistle this is where you belong.

Talking in your sleep
We’ve been together for such a long time
talk about how we’re happy with our lives
you say that you love being loved by me
why can’t I believe that you’re love is real
At night when we’re sleeping both very tired
turn your back on me don’t say good night
asleep you start laughing, talking in your sleep
call out a guy’s name, but the name’s not mine
That’s when I know you love this guy for real
the way you act when when you’re with me
Things you tell me, I know they’re not true
I mention this guy’s name, say you don’t know
Bridge
you call out a guy’s name, but it’s not mine
that’s how I know that you’re telling me lies
I can tell by the look in your cheating eyes
the love I once felt for you it’s based on lies
My feelings for you, my love once so strong
Vanished by morning, with the rising sun
I wished you could see how much I cared
I loved you, I’d have given you everything
a moment of madness ruined all my dreams
there’s nothing to be said my loves it’s dead

From The Outside Looking In
You’ll never know the storm within.
Each smile hides what’s breaking thin—
You hold on, You don’t give in.
In the beginning, you can't ever know,
The ride of your life, how far it will go.
Each pill a whisper, a prayer, a chance,
For one more smile, one more dance.
They say there's a cure, they say there's a way,
Just keep holding on, maybe one more day.
And hope becomes your only friend,
Each dawn a chance to try again.
To the world they may not be special, they are one in five,
But to you they’re everything—your reason to strive.

Gimme a Redhead
Gimme a Redhead
Lyrics and all copyrights held by Dean Grein 1/21/2025
I’ve loved blondes and brunettes in my day,
But there’s somethin’ about a redhead I must say.
Every time that I see one, I nearly go insane,
I’m not sure why, it’s hard to explain.
Gimme, gimme a redhead,
A sweet little redhead.
A little pretty ginger girl,
I could love instead.
When my friends and I go out on the town,
There’re not too many redheads seen around.
I look for the things that make her unique,
Bright green eyes and freckles on her cheeks.
Gimme, gimme a redhead
A sweet little redhead.
A little pretty ginger girl,
I could love instead.
It’s getting harder, but I won’t give up my dreams,
Gotta find a redhead,
To call my sweetheart
And comfort me.
Gimme, gimme a redhead
A sweet little redhead.
A little pretty ginger girl,
I could love instead.
There are lots of pretty women out there,
But these lovely charming ladies just don’t compare.
Well, I can’t go back, my heart’s been painted red,
No, I just can’t get that scarlet out of my head.
Gimme, gimme a redhead
A sweet little redhead.
A little pretty ginger girl,
I could love instead.
Gimme, gimme a redhead
A sweet little redhead.
A little pretty one,
I could love instead.

Tick Tock
Oh enemy of life and friend of Death
I wrote a piece devoted to your force
You thief of all my youth and all my breath
A swallower of everything you source
You end our lives and steal without remorse
And leave behind a world of anxious fear
So people eye the heavens for recourse
Upon a revelation, shed a tear
Time, I hate you. Let me be this year
(yes, it's a spenserian)

My Faded Old Blue Jeans
My Faded Ol’ Jeans
Copyright 1/10/2025 Lyrics and song owned by Dean F. Grein.
VS1.
One day I found in a bottom drawer,
A pair of jeans I ‘d never worn before.
They fit so well when I jumped in my truck.
I really could not believe my good luck.
VS2.
I used to wear them most ev’ry day,
But over the year that’s a price to pay.
I never thought I’d have to put them aside,
Those rips and tears I can no longer hide.
(CHORUS)
Now I’m parting ways with my ol’ blue jeans,
Good times been stitched into the seams
So, I say goodbye to my old friend,
I will never forget the places we’ve been.
VS3.
Today’s the day, it’s been six years
I’m really sad, but I shed no tears.
While I was asleep, I had a dream,
I just left the mall with a pair of new jeans.
(BRIDGE)
I tried my faded jeans on one last time,
But throwin’ them away would be a big crime.
Take them to a thrift store, and I know why,
Even with the rips and tears, somebody else will buy.

Life’s too short
Life’s too short to worry or fret
forget the past let’s move on
We’ll leave behind all regrets
keep the best, ditch the rest
just remember the good times
loose the worry loose all bad vibes
Remember the past’s long gone
not a single solitary minute
that you could wish for
Let’s look to the future
then take a deep breath
blink of an eye you could be dead
Bridge
Look forward not back over your shoulder
grasp the nettle be brave get bolder
Memories no matter how hard you try
sometimes you want to forget,
and yet still they won’t die
played our silly love games
that we played in our youth
long wished forgotten that’s the truth
Look forward to a brighter future
I’ll bet on a long life
throw down the dice
start wishing for a six
take a chance take the risk
living loving getting bolder
years from now you’ll be older
