You never asked for the spotlight Never needed the applause While the whole sky spun in circles You stayed right where you was Everybody chases brighter Everybody wants the flame But when I lost my way home I never once looked for the brightest — I look for you My north star Never the loudest light But always where you are When the whole sky's turning And I don't know where I am I find you I find you My north star Forty-seven stars outshine you That's what the charts all say But not one of them could tell me How to find my way They burn out, they wander They're gone by the dawn But every single time I look up You were the one still on I look for you My north star Never the loudest light But always where you are When the whole sky's turning And I don't know where I am I find you I find you My north star Constant isn't boring Constant is rare Anyone can blaze for a minute Not everyone stays there Steady is the hardest thing to be And you made it look easy I look for you My north star Never the loudest light But always where you are When the whole sky's turning And I don't know where I am I find you I find you My north star
