DescriptionI've been writing lyics for 45 years, and am seeking a composer/partner to complete the songs. My lyric writing really began when I was a child, and I would change the words of songs I heard on the radio while riding with my parents. Occasionally I would get an "ok" nod from my mom or a stare from my dad-especially when I would, while seeking a quick rhyme, slip in a swear word or two. For me, lyric writing is a reilable therapy by either emphasizing a good or bad mood I'm in or-as I drive a lot- a form of self-entertainment to pass the miles away. I've had one song published and recorded. My lyrics are in all styles- ballad, rock, pop, country, a touch of gospel.
Dreams & AmbitionsOver the years I have self-published 27 chapbooks of my lyrics. I have used them to pass out to local musicians, and I have done 40+ readings at libraries and local events. My goal is to have my lyrics put into song and to have more exposure and hopefully add meaning to someone's personal life and help them on their journey. Any muscial style that the composer believes fits the words is fine by me. To touch hearts and open minds is the creed I try to live and write by. From Dylan to Paul Simon to Leonard Cohen to the Beatles, my life has been greatly enriched and blessed by lyrics and music. All my lyrics are copyrighted.
EquipmentI use my computer skills both to write and to keep my vast output in lyrics (1600+) organized. If you want to hear three samples of songs I've cowritten, please go to You Tube Music and search for the following songs : "Paint's Already Dry", Adam Price, "Push Meets Shove", Chuck Wood II and "Son of a Factory Man", Chuck Wood II.

TWILIGHT ON MY HANDS I love you with a fever That’s never known a pause. I love you past forever, Captured by your golden claws. You tossed my heart in the air- Who knows where it lands? And I can hold back the night forever ‘Cos I’ve still got your twilight on my hands. I reach into the darkness, Pull out the last shred of light. I cup it to my heart To bring you back in sight. Fate is shoving my soul; Time will tell if it stands. And I can hold back the night forever ‘Cos I’ve still got your twilight on my hands. I love you with my last breath, As I drown in the pools of time. If you used me for the passion, I used you for the rhyme. I’ll keep reaching for you, Through the falling sands. And I can hold back the night forever ‘Cos I’ve still got your twilight on my hands.
