V-C Hello Frank, please let us know more about yourself

FC Greetings, my name is Frank Critelli, and I live in the mountains of Montana, (USA).

I have two published books, was a professional speechwriter, high-school substitute teacher, law enforcement officer, and elected politician.

I was also a published cartoonist, poet, feature magazine writer, columnist, and an extra on long running TV shows, as well as modern western dramas. I even appeared twice in The New Yorker Magazine, and once in U.S.A.

Today, I have two Senior Olympic state Bronze Medals, and two great dogs!

V-C What a varied background and experiences you have had! We are very eager to hear your collaboration story.

FC Shortly after joining Verse Chorus I became acquainted with another member, who reached out regarding collaboration.

I had written a poem entitled 'To Trust Again', that I thought might have musical possibilities.

Poetry and music being individual forms of art.

V-C What a great idea! What is the song about?

FC The poem, and now song tells a tale of a man who finds himself at a humane shelter one cold morning, where he meets a dog, and both of their lives change forever as they learn 'To Trust Again'.

It is emotional, builds through a story-telling crescendo, and finishes in a very uplifting manner.

Two souls, under a big-sky horizon, bonded beyond time.

V-C How heart-warming! How does the poem work as a song?

FC The lyrics have a soul meant for musical expression. The story-telling theme is wrapped gently within the instrumentation and vocals.

Thanks to a gentleman, (Larry Magee), who I met through Verse-Chorus, the words went from two dimensional lyrics, into a full, three dimensional, instrument and vocal project.

V-C How exactly did Larry help you?

FC Larry politely, patiently, and knowledgeably guided the process, including suggesting vocalists for me to consider. One of which, a very talented guy named Robert Lee, is the voice I had envisioned for 'To Trust Again'.

V-C Adding music and vocals to the poem definitely adds emotion. What has been the feedback?

FC Almost to a person, everyone who listens 'To Trust Again' has a strong emotional reaction as to how these two, (man and dog), have found each other.

Folks have contacted me to express that more than a few tears have been shed as they listened multiple times to; 'To Trust Again'.

V-C That's a perfect reaction! Have you achieved your goal with 'To Trust Again'?

FC My idea was that if I could help one animal, then the song would be successful in my eyes. It has definitely achieved that goal.

I offered the song to a regional rescue organization, they gratefully accepted, and it has been a big boost to one of their projects. Nationally, two other major animal organizations may do the same.

It is copyrighted. If a major talent wanted to record it, then it could be for sale. As far as the rescue organizations to date, it is free.

V-C Where can we listen to; 'To Trust Again'?

FC 'To Trust Again' can be found on my Verse-Chorus Profile page.

It is also on most streaming platforms, Youtube, Google, or other search engines. Type in my name and the title, and it pops up.

V-C Finally, do you have any advice for anyone thinking about becoming a member of Verse-Chorus?

FC I am minimally versed in the music business, but I do have an extensive background in other endeavors.

Verse-Chorus is an artistic service, with hands-on, personal care, that comprehensively works to tailor each member's goals.

Additionally, Verse-Chorus is responsive, detail oriented, and just nice folks.

I am very interested in doing more collaborations, so please get in touch!

FC Definitely, Verse-Chorus was the synthesis that allowed the writer, instrumentalist, and vocalist to mesh professionally and courteously.

Congratulations on not only creating a successful collaboration, but also in helping animals find a well deserved and safe home. Such a wonderful aim to have and so rewarding to achieve!

For me, Frank's story shows how when one idea meets the perfect connection, a magical collaboration is established. This collaboration can then carry an important message to the very heart of anyone listening.

The result, a beautiful, meaningful song, whose emotional response stretches far and wide!

At Verse-Chorus we really do value the immense support we get from our members. It does feel like we are all part of a Verse-Chorus family.
