Then I went back to the streets looking for a way to survive

and life had already passed me by
everyone I knew was ten steps ahead of me
but not one of them was where I wanted to be
they all carried on in so many directions
I couldn't catch them without some motivation

my friends were then strangers I never got to meet
I'd like to think they were OK without me
I found a job I hated but, hey, it did pay

Now here I am, too old at twenty seven
for it to be cute that I am still a rebel
but I will not accept that there's no more to life
than just working everyday in a senseless grind
