DescriptionI am a published poet who would like to venture into writing song lyrics and collaborate with musicians who require such a service. As a couple of examples of my aptitude for wordplay I enclose the following 2 poems, the first of which was published on Table Tennis England's website for 14 months: Pingsong Spun into the corner Sliced into the net Smashed into the cosmos Flying like a jet A fearsome falchion forehand A backhand bayonet Inverting and diverting Then unerringly converting A blazing, bludgeoned ball A fiendish forehand A brutish backhand And a stupendous smash Tie this clash Thirteen-all In a furious flurry of ballistic ball-pounding An enthralled audience's cheers are resounding For this dazzling display of pulsating ping pong That they wish would continue to thrill all night long As many a stunned spectator perspires The ultimate end to this game that inspires Yields a standing ovation for what they have seen And the startling scoreline of nineteen-seventeen. I think I could do the above poem as a rap, looking for the right producers/musicians to help me with this... London Tidings A crazy, hazy ambience The sun is red with tumult ahead? A devouring dread Of the future for the sentient Under the sombre sky of a world unrepentant? A planet ablaze, in its final days, Through the flammable folly of malevolent men who provoked one another, again and again with all objections to their transgressions Decimated by repressive aggression? If we could but instil a gentle intention To extend the longevity of our dimension With placatory paths on which we embark We may yet see sunlight In place of this dark.
Dreams & AmbitionsMy dream is to write in any creative capacity including as a lyricist. I specialise in poetry but have written a couple of songs too and am enchanted by great music and believe song-writing is a wonderful avenue to pursue. I would relish collaborating with other musicians to turn their wordless wonders into pulsating popular music!!!
