I have been singing since I was 8 years old, so almost 20 years. I have a background in opera/art songs/lied. But I have always dabbled with other genres on the side like 90’s country, mainstream pop, folk and a lot of christian music. So I’m known to be [removed] favorite genre is soulful Christian, but only the good stuff; songs with realistic lyrics, chord progressions that aren’t so cliché, and well thought-out melodic lines. I’m not a fan of mainstream Christian music, as it all seems to be mass-produced and very repetitive. Sarah Juers and Madison Ryann Ward are two of my all time favorite singer-songwriters. I take a lot of my inspiration from them. I love to sing this type of soulful music, and I aspire to write lyrics that click with that kind of style as well.

I want to create gospel songs that aren’t robotic or too perfect. Currently, one of my favorite writing styles are haikus. I find this form to be an incredible way to learn how to write with syllabic patterns and limited word-count. I aspire to write realistic lyrics that truly reflect the human experience we have as Christians, and at some point create entire songs to sing.
