DescriptionHi, I'm Marlin and I write jazz songs, some but not all of which sound lovely in a bossa nova setting, or generally go nicely with piano, double bass plus flute or trumpet/ flugelhorn. There are duetts, too - for two female voices and for male and female voices. Since I know there are better singers out there than myself, I would prefer my songs to be sung by the most suitable voice available. I also enjoy witnessing how other artists bring them to life and add their personality to each one. I have also written some instrumentals suitable for flute, trumpet and trombone or saxophone respectively. So, if you are a performing or recording jazz singer, contact me for more details.
Dreams & AmbitionsI want my songs to be played by musicians who love jazz and Bossa Nova. I want to witness how they make their own version. I have some tunes that haven't even been recorded yet but also some decent recordings made and published on YouTube.
EquipmentI use my keyboard to compose, Band-in-a-box to check and pick a style, usually go to a friend's home studio to record with piano, double bass and one soloist - sometimes drums. Had a cello player from the U.S. add a line or two as well on occasion
