Shawn Ash is a singer/songwriter who lives in Lake County Florida. He has been writing original music and performing with various bands since his early 20's. He gained his love of all music from his father who collected and listened to various genres of music (NittyGritty Dirt Band, Peter Frampton, Pink Floyd, Charlie Daniels, Boston, Journey) to name a few. In 2010 he was signed to an independent publishing label, Reign Forever Group, out of Atlanta, GA and wrote and recorded "Don't Take the Beer" with his good friend CJ Solar, which saw some success on Radio and digital media. Harold "Self" Chisholm saw potential and requested another single to cut so Shawn sat down with Producer/Sound Engineer/Musician/Singer - Paul Gasparro, owner and operator of End Of Autumn (EOA) Studios in Atlanta, GA and wrote "This Ones Gonna Hurt". Shawn started work on laying down the track, however in 2012, he decided to move back to Orlando, Florida to be closer to his family after going through a divorce. In 2013 he met the love of his life and after some encouragement from her he got back into writing, singing, and performing. Now Shawn regularly performs at The Villages - Squares (Brownwood, Lake Sumter, & Spanish Springs), Bars (City Fire) as well as Various Country Clubs and Whispering Oaks Winery in Oxford, FL.
Dreams and ambitions:
I am a lyricist, vocalist, and have a sound base in music theory but have never learned piano or guitar. I have written close to hundred original songs some of which were with my good friend CJ Solar, who wrote last years #1 "Up Down" - Morgan Wallen and continues to write hit songs for both himself and cuts with mainstream country artists. One of which got me signed for a short time with a label out of Atlanta, GA, Reign Forever Group, which lead to my first single "Don't Take the Beer" , music video, and the label putting together a band and work on a second single "This Ones Gonna Hurt" which never got released. Flash forward to 2020 and I live in Lake County, FL were I perform at the bars and clubs in the area anywhere between 15 to 20 times a month. I have a knack for writing lyrics and coming up with hooks that are in line with the current radio and media releases. My ultimate ambition is to be an independent writer for labels and artists, ultimately resulting in some of my cuts charting in the top 10.
Don't Take the Beer - Shawn Ash / CJ Solar (c) 2010Uploaded April 18, 2020
A good friend of mine left a voicemail on my phone one day after I had started writing songs again. The original hook he left on that voicemail was "If you're leaving, please leave me the beer". At a writing conference in Nashville for NSAI I met my now good friend CJ Solar and who helped make it into the song it is today.

While in Baton Rouge for CJ's first solo album release we sat down and wrote this from I think the Hook and half of the chorus. With CJ touring and having 7 of his most recent songs cut by various artists one of which charted #1 last year with Morgan Wallen w (FGL) making it to that chart, we only had the time to lay down the Rough Demo Track, I would love for an expert acoustic/lead guitarist to listen and copy the guitar track for me making it an instrumental so that I can record a clean demo to submit for artists and/or labels to pick up.

Wrote this with my, now late producer, Paul Gasparro of EOA Studios in Atlanta, GA. He was a helluva writer, producer, and musician and is sorely missed. This was meant to be the next single of my then up and coming album "The Craft". It is a great song and deserves to be cut and released someday.
