DescriptionHi, Melanie. I’m naturally an introvert, so I tend to be quiet at first, but music has always been a huge part of my life. My mom is a music lecturer, so I grew up around music and was exposed to different styles from a young age. Country music eventually became one of the styles I connected with most. I’m especially drawn to artists like Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Chris Stapleton because of the emotion, storytelling, and character in their music. I love singing songs that feel real and honest, and I enjoy exploring different vocal styles, from soft and intimate to strong and expressive. I’m still learning and finding my own sound, but country, Americana, folk, and soulful music are definitely where I feel most at home :)

Lyrics

Pieces of me

Genres: Country, Pop

Verse 1
I used to wear myself so tightly
Like I had to be someone to belong
Smiling through things I didn’t believe in
Just to prove I was never wrong

But somewhere in the noise I lost me
In all the voices telling me who to be
I kept giving pieces away
Until there was nothing left I could see

Pre-Chorus
And I didn’t know it then
But breaking was beginning

Chorus
I had to lose myself
To find who I am
Fall apart in my own hands
Just to understand

That everything I needed
Was buried underneath the pain
I had to lose myself
To find me again

Verse 2
I stopped chasing perfect answers
Stopped trying to fit every mold
Started listening to the quiet
That I used to ignore and hold

And in the silence I remembered
There was a voice I used to know
It didn’t ask me to be better
It just asked me to come home

Bridge
If I had never broken
I would’ve never seen
That the version I was searching for
Was already inside of me

Final Chorus
I had to lose myself
To find who I am
Not in pieces I gave away
But in who I am again
