DescriptionMervyn Graham is a craftsman of both timber and thought, a man whose hands understand the language of grain and whose mind wanders the shadow-lit corridors of poetry. While his professional foundation was built through woodworking, carpentry, and joinery, his creative spirit has long been nourished by the written word. Poetry, for Mervyn, is not merely [removed] is atmosphere, memory, philosophy, and emotional architecture carved into language. Rooted in his Scottish heritage and shaped further by life in Canada, Mervyn carries with him the influence of two landscapes rich in storytelling traditions. From the weathered soul of Scotland’s ballads to the vast reflective silence of the Canadian outdoors, he draws inspiration from places where history, humanity, and nature intersect. His appreciation for poetry stems from its ability to reveal truths that ordinary conversation often leaves untouched. A single verse, in his view, can hold the emotional weight of an entire lifetime. Mervyn’s literary interests span generations and styles, embracing the timeless works of Robert Burns, Walt Whitman, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Shel Silverstein, Kahlil Gibran, and Emily Dickinson among many others. He is drawn equally to raw simplicity and layered symbolism, appreciating poetry that lingers long after the final line has faded. In recent years, Mervyn has expanded his artistic journey through music creation using Suno, blending spoken imagery, lyrical storytelling, and melody into immersive musical works. He has developed a passion for transforming poetry into song, breathing rhythm and voice into verses that once existed only on the page. This creative evolution has opened the door to extensive collaboration with fellow writers and poets from around the world. To date, Mervyn has worked alongside approximately seventy poets in collaborative projects, helping shape and adapt their fine penmanship into lyrical compositions. Through these partnerships, he has become known not only as a creator, but as a creative catalyst, someone who values the voice of others as deeply as his own. Whether refining structure, expanding imagery, or building musical atmosphere around existing poems, he approaches each collaboration with respect for the poet’s original vision while adding his own distinctive artistic touch. Though he may never claim the title of poet/songwriter outright, Mervyn Graham lives poetically. His work, whether fashioned from wood, words, or song, reflects a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, emotion, and the enduring power of [removed] every medium he touches, there is evidence of a man seeking not only to build things, but to leave resonance behind, like the lingering note of a song echoing through an old timber hall at dusk.
Dreams & AmbitionsThrough my main poetry site, I have built up a small following of enthusiastic fellow writers and poets, I have collaborated with 120-plus other poets on their lyrics, bringing them to life in a presentable way; some need more help than others. I have helped "produce" 3 albums of poems-to-song for two other users; those alone would have 30 collaborations in them. With those in mind I will have worked on some 200 poem/songs, the final part of my process is using Ai to "produce" the song in the genre best suited for the poet. The results can be surprising. I hope to hear from some of your other songwriters soon. Merv

Gemini Girl She with the eyes the color of cold, deep water, And hair like sun-bleached ice. Her shirt is the color of the desert floor, Scrubbed thin by years of wind and dust. She is not a queen, but a finder of lost things. She discovered it where the temple walls finally gave up, Where the red rock split open like a cracked egg. In a the crypt beneath the dunes, Where the air had been still and perfect for ages, It waited. The obsidian disk has a bronzed eye, wide as the woman's hands. The etched with concentric rings of stories, Things that have already been forgotten. A lion on two legs, a winged human, A wheel of nameless, fixed stars. The gems are more than jewels; they are fixed points, Purple and blue pinpricks of meaning, A whole galaxy held in a handful of metal. It is not a map of the ground, but of confluence. Who made it? Not a single hand. The precision is too ancient for our tools, Too alien for our designs, yet too human In its metaphors. Perhaps the work of a forgotten conclave, A blend of earthly stonecraft and star-borne knowledge. A fusion of civilizations that should not have met. It belongs neither entirely to the sky, Nor purely to the earth. It is a ghost of a fusion. She holds it like a shield as it reveals it's secret. Its weight in her palms is an old language. She is not its maker, but knows it's key, The first to hear its metal sing again, The one whose breath is needed To wake the sleeping geometry. It means a time is near. A shifting of the sky and the sand. She looks out at the dying light, Her gaze not on the ruins, But on the invisible lines the disk traces, Following the path it opens.
