I’ve been writing poetry since I was really young. It started as a hobby, something I enjoyed doing for myself. I never really thought it would turn into anything more.
This year, when my son was born, I started writing songs for him. That opened up a different side of creativity for me and made me wonder, what if I actually tried writing music for other people too? One thing led to another, and here I am.
One thing I’ve discovered about myself is that I can listen to an instrumental and almost hear the words that belong with it. I’ll start putting my thoughts together, write them down, and build something around the music.
I’m open-minded when it comes to music. I enjoy all kinds of genres, I’m flexible, and I don’t mind stepping outside my comfort zone or changing things up to make a song better.
At the end of the day, I want to create music that touches people’s souls. I want to leave something behind that people can connect with, and most importantly, I want my son to grow up knowing his dad followed a dream and created something he can be proud of.
