DescriptionI am a professional composer - I create music for video and for audio books. I am also a serious songwriter and a skilled lyricist - for years I have been a member of the Austin Songwriters Group, and I was active in the singer songwriter scene when I lived in Texas. Currently, I make my living as a Producer in the advertising industry - recording and editing voice overs and mixing music to produce radio spots. I mostly work remote - I have a fully featured home studio and audio work station. I have excellent production skills and equipment. Mostly, I am looking for a collaborator because I appreciate the energy and enthusiasm that 2 creative partners can generate! Thanks for checking me out!
Dreams & AmbitionsI am looking to create art of lasting artistic value - I know how to write a commercial cut, but I am most interested in music that stirs the soul and evokes emotion. My ultimate goal is to sell one of my (our!) songs to a successful recording artist. Having a hit would be nice also! I think about music and audio production all the time, it's more than a pastime or a living... it's my life!
EquipmentI am a professional bass player, but I do not currently have a gig (Covid...) and I also play (what I call) a tenor guitar. Which is basically a 4-string acoustic bass, but strung high so that I can play chords. It's fun and it helps me to write. The bass is not that useful when it comes to writing... except for basslines! I play keyboard, which I use to compose music. I am expert at using the iPad to make music - I feel that its utility as a musical instrument is still in its infancy and that it is not widely understood as a musical creative tool. I use Pro Tools for production, mainly, but also GarageBand, Adobe Audition, Sound Forge and Audacity. I am an audio engineer, so I use stuff like iZotope RX9, iZotope Ozone, etc. I do not do any mastering work, but I know how.
Lyrics
This is an unfinished song - it's the one I am working on right now, and is a fairly good sample of the stuff I can write: My Beautiful Mirror I was praying your melody – you were singing my prayer our spirits were rising, amber sparks in the air You look at me with delight – you offer my vision the shape of the light you show me how, you show me the colors of my sky Your love is a Nightingale – you built a nest in my heart it’s a musical mess… but we call it, “art!†You taught my wings how to fly, painted my feathers the blue of the sky you show me how, you show me the beauty in my eye (because) My beautiful mirror, shows my beautiful mirror, shows me beauty Your beautiful mirror, shows your beautiful mirror, shows me all the love that you see
