Verse-Chorus Lyrics

Lyrics by Andy Jones

Out of Touch

Genres: Indie, Folk

Monday needs to wait
As it irritates my condition
Which is missing a piece
And I want to fall
Tuesday’s even worse
It’s a blessing and a curse
My peace of mind
Is on a ledge
And my sword is double-edged
And my heart just beats right through
Oh-oh I’m out of touch
And there’s nothing much I can do
And my heart just beats right through
Oh-oh I’m running out of time
To fit the words to the rhyme
And my heart just stays in line

Wednesday sees the sun
Start to rise as one with I
It’s been a long reflection
As I head in the wrong direction
Thursday strikes a chord
There’s silver in my sword
I feel the light in my eyes
And for a while I stem the tide
And my heart just beats right through
Oh-oh I’m out of touch
And there’s nothing much I can do
And my heart just beats right through
Oh-oh I’m running out of time
To fit the words to the rhyme
And my heart just stays in line
But why?

More Than You Asked For

Genres: Indie, Rock

n a scene with me and you, the light is bright, it’s white, it’s blue but moreover
I’ve never heard you say it does, but all the air around you seems to boil over
And conversation never dries, it builds and builds, it never dies
In occupation we combine, I see all the reasons all the time

But you kill dreams that don’t make sense
And build machines to leave me dead

You got more than – something more than you asked for
Sometimes I may reach for your hand, so do what you can
You got more than – something more than you asked for

In a field of constant sun, with everywhere and everyone in union
Distance runs from obstacles and distance runs are made to cause confusion
A contribution would be kind, would it change the way you view your life?
Differences, just a few, all my answers overdue

So take to the stage and finish this song
Do what you can, it won’t take long

You got more than – something more than you asked for
Sometimes I may reach for your hand, so do what you can

Strange faces staring and wearing me thin
In places my head is starting to spin, starting to spin, starting to spin

You got more than – something more than you asked for
Sometimes I may reach for your hand, so do what you can
You got more than – something more than you asked for

So why you alone at all?

Swallows

Genres: Indie, Oldies, Singer-Songwriter

She watches children leave one by one
Her swallows migrate to distant suns
She's left behind with the simplest view
She wished she could go too

Stay at home and learn to be strong
Listen out for birdsong
Making sense of time afraid...
Where are the wings that I made?

They're in the shadows
The dark of night
That's where her mind goes
When it can't find the light
She's in the process of mixing colours to white
That's when the swallows fly
Home in the spring after a long flight
She'll sleep well tonight
