Verse-Chorus Lyrics

Lyrics by Allan West

Mister Insignificant

Genres: Folk, Singer-Songwriter

MISTER INSIGNIFICANT

He’s the man who has to stand up on the bus
He’s the man who hardly ever makes a fuss
He’s the man who get his news feed every day
He’s the man who hasn’t really much to say
He’s the man whose life is oh so innocent
And his name is Mister Insignificant

He’s the man who waits there quiet in the queue
You don’t notice and he doesn’t notice you
He’s the man who you just shouldered in the street
He’s the man who you will never ever meet
He’s the man whose life is not magnificent
And his name is Mister Insignificant

CHORUS
He’s the man who we all know
But we never stop to say hello
Wears an unfamiliar face
Caught up in the mad rat race
He’s so human you know

He’s the man who cruises in the middle lane
He’s as close as you can get to being sane
He’s the man who’s hardly ever late for work
And he thinks that people think that he’s a jerk
And he cries when he thinks death is imminent
And his time on Earth in insignificant

CHORUS
Yeah, he’s the man who we all know
But we never stop to say hello
Wears an unfamiliar face
Caught up in the mad rat race
He’s so human you know

But one day somethin’ in his head just snaps
Wreaks havoc with this momentary lapse
His face is splashed on every TV screen
The maddest guy the world has ever seen
And the rating points are just magnificent
And he’s no longer insignificant

CHORUS
Yeah he’s the man who we all know
But we’d never stop to say hello
Wearing that familiar face
A victim of the mad rat race
He’s not human you know
He cannot be human, you know.

Seven Days

Monday was a mundane day
And Tuesday was one too
Wednesday, I wonder when's the day
That I'll again see you.

Thursday for the third day
I sent flowers to your door
Friday and I find today
You don't want me any more

Saturday was a sadder day
Than I have ever known
Sunday I pray that some day
You'll tell me you're comin' home

Chorus
Seven days have made a weak
A weak man out of me
The tears are rollin' down my cheek
I just cry in misery
Seven days since I’ve seen your face
That's seven days too long
Until I feel your warm embrace
How can I, next week, be strong?

The days they come and the days they go
But you stay on my mind
Each minute hopin' that you will show
I just watch the hours unwind

But Monday was a mundane day
And Tuesday was one too
Wednesday, I wonder when's the day
That I'll again see you.

Seven days have made a weak
A weak man out of me
The tears are rollin' down my cheek
I just cry in misery

Seven days since I’ve seen your face
That's seven days too long
Until I feel your warm embrace
How can I, next week, be strong?

Yeah, Until I feel your warm embrace
How can I, so weak, be strong?

Crystal Tears

Genres: Rock, Folk, Singer-Songwriter

CRYSTAL TEARS – Lyrics by Allan West

The mad mutilation of civilisation
The vulture chewing at culture
The man in the crowd
Is talking too loud
We'll turn him into a soldier

The sad degradation of sophistication
You know Mother Nature
Must hate yu!
You say you can't see this mad killing spree
Yet your own Frankenstein just ate yu!

CHORUS
So how does it feel
Now you know that it's real?
And life's no big deal, yeah
How does it feel?
And what will you do now
And what will you say?
When that big boy upstairs
Just gives us away?

The senseless starvation of God's own creation
And how many times were we told?
That our chance of survival
Has too many rivals
Now our human warmth has run cold

CHORUS
So how does it feel
Now you know that it's real?
And life's no big deal, yeah
How does it feel?
And what will you do now
And what will you say?
When that big boy upstairs
Just gives us away?

BRIDGE
Crystal tears of forgotten years
Of memories bitter and sweet
As life rolls along
To the tune of a song
That has no rhythmic beat

Our end of existence will see no resistance
We'll offer no Why, When or Hows
And God will create a new kind of race
With a conscience much greater than ours!

CHORUS
So how does it feel
Now you know that it's real?
And life's no big deal, yeah
How does it feel?
And what will you do now
And what will you say?
When that big boy upstairs
Just gives us away?
He'll just ... give us away

Easy for You

Genres: Rock

EASY FOR YOU – Lyrics by Allan West

Verse 1
You sit there
With your fake blonde hair
And your Marie Clare
And you just don’t care
For me

You drive away
Every single day
In your Chevrolet
And do a spot on Pay
TV

Chorus
You say I’m always gonna be the one
But you’re the one who’s always out there havin’ fun
You say we’ve gotta trust each other every day
Well listen when I tell you honey
That’s easy for you to sayyyy, yeah
That’s easy for you to say

Verse 2
You look so nice
When you roll that dice
‘n’ cool your lips with ice
But you’ll pay the price
One day

Who’s gonna know you when the chips are down?
Who’s gonna be around?
When some new kid in town
Starts to play

Chorus
You say I’m always gonna be the one
But you’re the one who’s always out there havin’ fun
You say we’ve gotta trust each other every day
Well listen when I tell you honey
That’s easy for you to sayyyy, yeah
That’s easy for you to say

Bridge
In front of that lens
There are no split ends
You’ve got a fear you disguise
With your contact blue eyes
Is that really you
Or the autocue
Tellin’ me of poverty in Kathmandu?

Verse 3
You trip the light
Every single night
With the erudite
But there’s a morning’ sight
They don’t see

Who makes you coffee for your throbbin’ head?
When you’re feelin’ dead?
Who keeps you warm in bed?
That is me

Chorus
I realise they’re tearin’ you away
You’re gonna up and leave me in your Chevrolet
But when you whisper to me in that special way
‘Tell me that you love me, honey!’
That’s easy for me to sayyyy, yeah
That’s easy for me to say.
