Verse-Chorus Lyrics

Lyrics by Gary Laney

Turn to me

Genres: Pop, Christian

[Verse 1]
When the weight of the world feels too heavy to bear,
And you're lost in the dark with no one there.
When the silence cuts like a sharpened blade,
And you’re wondering if you’ve been betrayed...
Just breathe, just be still—
I’m here and I always will.

[Chorus]
Turn to Me when things are tough,
Turn to Me when you've had enough.
My arms are wide, My love is strong,
No matter what you’ve done,
No matter what’s gone wrong…
Turn to Me.

[Verse 2]
You’ve run down roads that led you nowhere,
You’ve searched for hope in empty prayers.
But I’ve been walking right by your side,
Seen every tear you tried to hide.
You’re never too far, never too lost—
I already paid your cost.

[Chorus]
Turn to Me when things are tough,
Turn to Me when you've had enough.
My arms are wide, My love is strong,
No matter what you’ve done,
No matter what’s gone wrong…
Turn to Me.

[Bridge]
I gave My life so you could be free,
There’s no chain too strong for Me.
When the world walks out, I walk in—
I’ll heal your heart and make it whole again.

[Final Chorus – Soaring]
Turn to Me when you’re breaking down,
When your dreams are lost and you’re spinning ‘round.
I’ll be your peace, your solid ground—
My love won’t let you drown.
No matter what you’ve done, no matter where you’ve been…
Turn to Me.

[Outro – Soft & Gentle]
I’m waiting here, arms open wide...
Just turn to Me.
You are My child, My joy, My light...
 turn to Me.

Lost souls of L.A

Genres: Pop

Verse 1
Her young eyes, so innocent and blue,
Hiding the secrets of what Daddy would do.
She packed her fears in a small case,
Stepped into the night out of that broken place.
Now she sleeps beneath a billboard sign,
Prayin’ angels see her through another night.

Chorus
No one sees… the lost souls of L.A.
They pass through the shadows then fade away.
Billboards preach of dreams in ten-foot script,
While truth bleeds out on Sunset Strip.
No one hears… no one prays…
For the lost souls of L.A.

Verse 2
His youthful shoulders, with too much weight to bear,
Stares at two strangers in the easy chairs.
Mom’s eyes are glass, Dad’s checked out,
He walks out the door without a shout.
Just twelve years old with nowhere to hide, nowhere to run,
Lost in the shadows, just another forgotten son.

Chorus
No one sees… the lost souls of L.A.
They pass through the shadows then fade away.
Billboards preach of dreams in ten-foot script,
While truth bleeds out on Sunset Strip.
No one hears… no one prays…
For the lost souls of L.A.

Verse 3
Tears of rejection fall like rain on the streets at night,
Discarded daughters, disowned sons — hiding from the light.
Everyone asks, “What can be done?”
While the city forgets what it can’t outrun

Final Chorus
No one sees… the lost souls of L.A.
They pass through the shadows then fade away.
Billboards preach of dreams in ten-foot script,
While truth bleeds out on Sunset Strip.
No one hears… no one prays…
For the lost souls of L.A.

Outro
When the night is dark and cold.
Somewhere out there.
 someone's child is losing hope
 Like a flickering neon sign.
no lullaby, no helping hand.
Just silence echoing across the land.
No one hears… no one prays…For the lost souls of L.A.

Hallmark Christmas song

Genres: Country, Pop

Verse 1:
The snows falling gently on the ground, a blanket of white covers the lawn.
The inlaws arrived last week, and plan to stay for far too long.
We cut our own tree for the first time this year.
The tree leans sharply to the left, some fishing line and bungee cords made it right.
It looks so beautiful with the decorations and lights everywhere.
Then we discovered a family of squirrels still living there.
This spring the whole house will need a lot of repairs.

Pre-Chorus:
Why can't my Christmas be like a Hallmark Christmas scene?
Filled with magic and romance, where love feels like a dream.
I'm dreaming of a Christmas, like the ones I see on-screen,
Oh, why can't my Christmas be like a Hallmark Christmas dream?

Chorus:
Oh, why can't my Christmas be like Hallmark movie scene?
Where everything is so beautiful, elegant and serene.
Where the snowflakes gently fall and pure love grows.
Where miracles happen under the mistletoe.
Why can't my Christmas be like a Hallmark show.

Verse 2:
The cat bit the head off of baby Jesus again, I'm not sure but I believe that's a sin.
All the guests arrived for the Christmas party an hour ago.
The spirits have begun to flow
All of our family and friends are aglow
All of their cars look so pretty buried in snow
Aunt beth and uncle John have had way too much wine, and started to bicker.
Oh my lord did I just see the lights flicker

Pre-Chorus:
Why can't my Christmas be like a Hallmark Christmas scene?
Filled with magic and romance, where love feels like a dream.
I'm dreaming of a love story, like the ones I see on-screen,
Oh, why can't my Christmas be like a Hallmark Christmas dream?

Chorus:
Oh, why can't my Christmas be like Hallmark movie scene?
Where everything is so beautiful, elegant and serene.
Where the snowflakes gently fall and pure love grows.
Where miracles happen under the mistletoe.
Why can't my Christmas be like a Hallmark show.

Bridge:
But deep inside, I'll keep searching and yearning,
For that magical love, that's fiercely burning.
I search for magic, in the twinkling lights,
Oh, why can't my Christmas be like a Hallmark Christmas night?

Chorus:
Oh, why can't my Christmas be like Hallmark movie scene?
Where everything is so beautiful, elegant and serene.
Where the snowflakes gently fall and pure love grows.
Where miracles happen under the mistletoe.
Why can't my Christmas be like a Hallmark show.

Outro:
Though I may not find magic under the mistletoe this year,
I'll cherish the love and the joy that is near.
Finally alone with the family and new year's eve is around the bend.
But secretly I can't wait for christmastime to do it all again.

Monterey

Genres: Pop

Verse 1
We burned like fire on the ocean shore,
Wild hearts racing, wanting more.
That night still echoes through the waves,
Love like that, it never fades.

Pre-Chorus
I thought we had forever in our hands,
But forever slipped away like sand through my hands.

Chorus
The last thing I heard her say,
As she turned and walked away:
We’ll always have Monterey.
I should’ve known back then,
She would’ve lasted longer than a weekend.
But we’ll always have Monterey.

Verse 2
Neon lights on Cannery Row,
We were young and didn’t wanna let go.
I still can feel the sea in her kiss,
A fleeting moment I’ll always miss.

Pre-Chorus
I swore I’d chase her anywhere she’d run,
But the morning came, and she was gone.

Chorus
The last thing I heard her say,
As she turned and walked away:
We’ll always have Monterey.
I should’ve known back then,
She would’ve lasted longer than a weekend.
But we’ll always have Monterey.

Bridge
Every time I hear the waves crash loud,
I see her face in the rolling crowd.
She’s a memory I can’t escape,
A photograph time can’t erase.

Final Chorus / Outro
The last thing I heard her say,
As she turned and walked away:
I should’ve known back then,
She would’ve lasted longer than a weekend.
I still can feel the sea in her kiss…
We'll ’ll always have Monterey.

You can't stop love

Genres: Pop

Verse 1
They were barely seventeen, hearts beatin’ fast,
Tired of being told their love would never last.
So they packed that car in the middle of the night,
Headed for the border, chasin' city lights.
No plan, just dreams and the stars above—
But when it’s real, that’s enough,
‘Cause you can’t stop love.

Chorus
You can’t stop love,
It don’t ask permission, don’t need a reason.
When it shows up, it don’t care what you’ve done.
It breaks all chains, it runs through flames,
And it shines even brighter when they say we’re insane.
Go ahead, try your best, but it’s never enough—
You can’t stop love.

Verse 2
Fifty years, a picket fence and a quiet porch,
Raised four kids, weathered every storm.
Still dances slow in the kitchen light,
Still holds her hand when the world ain’t right.
Time moves fast, but they’re still us—
Still fallin’ like it’s the first touch,
‘Cause you can’t stop love.

(Chorus)
You can’t stop love,
It don’t ask permission, don’t need a reason.
When it shows up, it don’t care what you’ve done.
It breaks all chains, it runs through flames,
And it shines even brighter when they say we’re insane.
Go ahead, try your best, but it’s never enough—
You can’t stop love.

Verse 3
They said goodbye when the road got tough,
Words got sharp, and the cracks showed up.
But years went by and hearts stayed sore,
Till they found each other at that old front door.
The pain was real, but so was the trust—
Some loves don’t fade, they just adjust,
‘Cause you can’t stop love.

Final Chorus
You can’t stop love,
It don’t ask permission, don’t need a reason.
When it shows up, it don’t care what you’ve done.
It breaks all chains, it runs through flames,
And it shines even brighter when they say we’re insane.
Go ahead, try your best, but it’s never enough—
You can’t stop love.

Outro
No, No, you can’t stop...
You can’t stop love.

Fast train to Whiskey town

Genres: Country

(Verse 1)
Sunset bleeds across the sky,
Another day gone, another long ride.
I'm staring out this window seat,
Counting scars and lost heartbeats.

I told myself I’d let you go,
But that whistle knows what I know—
Your name still echoes down the track,
And I keep on coming back.

(Chorus)
That ol' sun is going down,
Hear that whistle blow.
Feel those steel wheels going 'round,
That’s when your memory comes around.
And once again I’m on the fast train to Whiskey Town.

(Verse 2)
You’re a ghost in every town I pass,
A flame that flickers in the glass.
The further I go, the more I feel,
This train can’t outrun what’s real.
A bottle’s waiting where the neon’s dim,
And the jukebox still remembers him—
The fool who let your love slip by,
Now ridin’ steel and drownin’ pride.

(Chorus)
That ol' sun is going down,
Hear that whistle blow.
Feel those steel wheels going 'round,
That’s when your memory comes around.
And once again I’m on the fast train to Whiskey Town.

(Bridge)
Maybe someday I’ll find a way
To break this curse, to finally stay.
But till that light comes breaking through,
This train keeps runnin’ back to you.

(Final Chorus – Full Instrumentation)
That ol' sun is going down,
Hear that whistle blow.
Feel those steel wheels going 'round,
That’s when your memory comes around.
And once again I’m on the fast train to Whiskey Town.
Yeah, I’m headin’ down…
To Whiskey Town.

(Outro)
Hear that whistle blow
Feel those steel wheels going round
Yeah, once again…
I’m rollin on through Whiskey Town.

Always kiss me goodnight

Genres: Country

Verse 1:
Under the soft glow of the moonlight,
Whispers linger in the air tonight.
Every promise that we’ve ever made,
Wraps around me like your warm embrace.

Pre-Chorus:
And when the world feels cold and far away,
Your arms are home, where I will always stay.

Chorus:
Always kiss me goodnight, don’t let the moment fade,
Wrap me in your love, let the shadows slip away.
Every heartbeat, every sigh, feels so right,
So promise me you’ll always kiss me goodnight.

Verse 2:
Even when storms are rolling in,
Your voice is calm beneath my skin.
Every word you softly say to me,
Feels like shelter, sets my spirit free.

Pre-Chorus:
And when the silence tries to steal our light,
Your touch will guide me through the darkest night.

Chorus:
Always kiss me goodnight, don’t let the moment fade,
Wrap me in your love, let the shadows slip away.
Every heartbeat, every sigh, feels so right,
So promise me you’ll always kiss me goodnight.

Bridge:
No matter how far we roam,
Your love will lead me home.
In every dream, in every fight,
Let your kiss be my lullaby tonight.

Final Chorus:
Always kiss me goodnight, don’t let the moment fade,
Wrap me in your love, let the shadows slip away.
Every heartbeat, every sigh, feels so right,
So promise me you’ll always kiss me goodnight.

A little bit

Genres: Pop

Verse 1:
I sit alone in my room at night.
Pretending everything is alright.
Thought I moved on, my heart knows what's true.
A little bit of me is still in love with every little bit of you

Pre-Chorus:
I try to convince myself it's all in the past
But my mind keeps replaying the moments that didn't last
I'm dancing with the shadows of what we used to be
A little bit of me is still in love with every little bit of you

Chorus:
Oh, every little bit of me,
Still whispers your name in the silent breeze.
Every little piece of my heart,
Still yearns for the love we tore apart.
So tell me, what am I supposed to do,
When a little bit of me is still in love with every little bit of you.

Verse 2:
Our story's written in the dust of yesterday
Though we went separate ways, a part of me wants to stay
Memories linger like whispers on the wind, reminding me of the love we knew
A little bit of me is still in love with every little bit of you

Pre-Chorus:
I hide behind a smile, pretending I'm doing well.
But every now and then, I think about you.
No matter how hard I try to break through this hell.
A little bit of me still lingers in those memories of you.

Chorus:
Oh, every little bit of me,
Still whispers your name in the silent breeze.
Every little piece of my heart,
Still yearns for the love we tore apart.
So tell me, what am I supposed to do,
When a little bit of me is still in love with every little bit of you?

Bridge:
I'm torn between the past and what lies ahead,
Caught in a web of emotions I can't shed,
I'm walking this tightrope, unsure of where to go,
But deep in my soul, I still truly know

Chorus:
Oh, every little bit of me,
Still whispers your name in the silent breeze.
Every little piece of my heart,
Still yearns for the love we tore apart.
So tell me, what am I supposed to do,
When a little bit of me is still in love with every little bit of you?

Outro:
I still miss all the things we used to do.
A little bit of me is still in love with every little bit of you
A little bit of me is still in love with every little bit of you

That's me

Genres: Country

(verse 1)
I wanted you to stay, you said that you had to go.
I wanted you to be with me, but you had to be free.
I know that It's hard to believe, but one day you'll realize.
It's harder to forget then it was to leave.

(Pre chorus)
You still haven't learned that you can run but you can't hide.
One day you will wake up and find that feeling that you left something behind.
It's like you bought a ticket for the wrong ride.
Some truths in life can not be denied.

Chorus:
That haunting memory, oh, that's me,
That ache in your heart, that won't let you be, that's me
That hole in your soul, that's me.
That faraway look in your eye, that everyone can see.that's me.
That piece that is missing in you, baby, that's me. Oh that's me .

(verse 2)
Years down the road, you roam the world, lost and searching for your soul.
The papers say that your new fiancee has a fine pedigree.
I bet everyone thinks she's better than me.
I bet you believe that you have everything in your life under control.

(Pre chorus)
You still haven't learned that you can run but you can't hide.
One day you will wake up and find that feeling that you left something behind.
It's like you bought a ticket for the wrong ride.
Some truths in life can not be denied.

(Chorus)
That haunting distant memory, oh that's me.
That ache in your heart, that won't let you be, that's me,
That hole in your sole, you know that's me.
That faraway look in your eye, that everyone can see, that's me,
That piece that is missing in you, baby, that's me. Oh that's me.

(Bridge)
My footsteps echo through your gilded halls
My voice whispers in the rustling leaves of fall
I'm that questioning look in her eyes.
I'm the dark cloud in your once clear blue skies.

That ache in your heart, that won't let you be,that's me,
That hole in your sole, you know that's me.
That faraway look in your eye, that everyone can see, that's me,
That piece that is missing in you, baby, that's me. Oh that's me.

(Outro)
Here I stand frozen in time.
Like a lost thought trapped in your mind.
We could have been great, but now it's to late.

Rebels at night

Genres: Rock

(Verse 1)
Out of control at seventeen, running wild the streets of a small town.
Living the American dream.
Guitars screaming, muscle car tires squealing, peeling out of sight, chasing a thrill.
Scoring the winning point in the big game
As a chorus of cheerleaders scream your name
Stealing a kiss from the Homecoming queen

(Chorus)
Cruisin' the strip with friends
Wishing the night would never end
We'd park on the ridge beneath a blanket of stars, and dream as we eat up the night
Our fuel was rock and roll, it ruled our heart and soul
Chasing the moon as it falls out of sight
We were all rebels at night

(Verse 2)
Under those Friday night lights, everything was black and white
I pick her up at seven, run the red light Speedng out of sight.
We'll stop at the A&P where a fake ID, and a pretty smile can score a fidth.
Then we hit the street, ready to embrace the night.
Baby you look so beautiful tonight, in that white sweater you know, I can't resist.
Honey, take the wheel and let me see you shift
We were all rebels at night

(Bridge)
The moonlight danced upon the streets
Our hearts pounding to the rhythm of the beat.
With every turn, we felt alive and free
In our minds, we were soaring, breaking free

(Chorus)
Cruisin' the strip with friends
Wishing the night would never end
We'd park on the ridge beneath a blanket of stars, and dream as we eat up the night
Our fuel was rock and roll, it ruled our heart and soul
Chasing the moon as it falls out of sight
We were all rebels at night

(Outro)
Now the years roll on, but memories held tight
Still chasing the moon until the morning light
We were sons and daughters during the day and all rebels at night
We were all rebels at night.
We are all rebels at night.

Stolen car

Genres: Country

Verse 1
Had a quiet simple life, until she cruised into town turning my life upside down.
From the moment we met with her smoky eyes,
I could tell she'd leave a trail of wreckage and lies.
She was reckless wild and untamed, every part of me knew I'd never be the same.
I couldn't resist the game, her touch was my vice, I knew I'd pay the ultimate price.

Pre-Chorus:
Her love was the reckless kind, she played by her own rules,
Leaving chaos in her wake, breaking hearts like shattered jewels.
But I couldn't resist her charms, her touch set my world on fire.
She left me in the dust, longing for that burning desire.

Chorus
She drove my heart like a stolen car.
Running hot and fast but we didn't get far.
Tore through my life like a shooting star.
She left me stranded in this roadside bar.
But oh baby I'm going to find you, wherever you are.

Verse 2
She played every twist and turn with such sweet delight
Then she vanished from sight, like a thief in the night.
I danced on the edge, blinded by desire,
The pain she caused, only fueled the fire.

But oh baby I'm going to find you, wherever you you are.

Bridge
I should've seen the sign that there was a breakdown dead ahead.
she drove my heart like a stolen car
Fast and furious, without regard.
But I'm going to find you wherever you are.

Outro
As the thrill it fades, wounds turn to scars.
Now I'm standing alone, staring at the stars.
Baby I'm gonna find you wherever you are.

Bad boys are much more fun

Genres: Pop

Verse 1
Some girls prefer good boys to sit and talk
Some girls prefer good boys who take long walks
Some girls prefer good boys that come home after work is done.
I prefer bad boys, bad boys are much more fun

Pre chorus
Bad boys drive fast cars and wear tattoos with pride,
Their charm is intoxicating, impossible to hide,
With their devilish charm, they take my breath away,
I lose myself in their wild hearts night and day.

Chorus:
So give me the rebels, the ones who never play it safe,
The ones who break rules and move to their own beat,
Living for the thrill, 'til the morning sun
Oh Yah, I prefer the bad boys, bad boys are much more fun.

(Verse 2)
These good boys may be safe, they're steady and kind,
But I crave the excitement that bad boys provide,
Leather jackets and wild charm make my passion ignite,
They're rebels at heart, making my spirit take flight.

Their charm intoxicates me, it's impossible to hide,
With their devilish charm, they take my breath away,

The ones who ride on the edge, who light up the dark.
Bad boys may not play it safe, but they make my heart race.
Their wild charm and reckless ways leave me in a daze.

Outro:
Some girls prefer good boys, but not me,
I'll embrace the wild side, that sets my spirit free,
I'm drawn to mischief, the untamed desire
I find solace in the eyes that burn like fire

Heartbreak Rodeo

Genres: Country

Verse 1
Welcome to the heartbreak rodeo my friends, where the twists and turns never end.
We have a first timer coming out of chute number three
Riding a wild little filly named it's not you it's me.
Hold on tight, don't let go in this wild ride, anything goes.
Broken hearts and bucking broncs, we're all just riders in the storm
Through the highs and lows, trying find our way back home

Pre chorus
At the heartbreak rodeo memories linger and the heartaches flow.
Another fool saddles up beneath the neon glow
The clowns make us laugh and smile, but the pain still shows
We all take our chances, we ride the highs and feel the lows.
In this wild ride of love, how it ends, nobody knows.

Chorus
Welcome ya'll to the heartbreak rodeo where love is a wild, wild show.
Hearts get trampled in the arena of lost souls and shattered dreams.
Where nothing is what it seems.
Hope lays shattered on the dusty floor, but they keep coming back for more
No ones ever to blame in this fools game.

Verse 2
An old fool coming out of chute number two, riding a bucking bronc named honey I've met someone new.
Every twist and turn, how it ends No one knows.
Love's a wild ride, that's how it goes
We've all been bucked off and kicked around, but refuse to stay on the ground
With a cowboy's spirit, stand tall and proud, never back down

(Bridge)
Every broken heart has a story to tell
Here at the Heartbreak Rodeo, we know them well
Broken hearts left in the dirt badly bruised and scarred
Lives left in tatters

(Outro)
So saddle up, my friends, and come along.
To the Heartbreak Rodeo, where no fool cries alone.
Tell every fool for miles around.
The heartbreak rodeo is coming to your town.
