Lyricist in search of musicians for collaboration
POSTED ON 3 MAR, 2021
“Dutch Knickerbocker has been a lyricist since reading the romantic poets in his teenage years and becoming washed in delight by their lyrical sprays and endless waves of joy. Washington Irving and Edgar Allan Poe were favored influences. The folk and rock heroes of the 1960’s era combined a singular impetus launching his creative attempts as these writers in the genre continue to be revered as major influences in his literary pursuits. ”
More detailsDutch persists in his love of the lyrical craft enamored by the likes of Brian Wilson, John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Steve Goodman, Blaze Foley, Jerry Jeff Walker, Dave Van Ronk, and Bob Dylan.
In his professional work as an Industrial Engineer Dutch earned a U.S. Patent (Pat.#5,137,190) for a symmetrical window curtain pleating device. Shortly thereafter Dutch developed a pattern matching system for suits and sport coats and was awarded a Foreign Filing Licence in lieu of a utility patent and published an article on his system for Bobbin Magazine's June 1995 issue. Dutch also wrote and published an article for the National Textile Center (Project I99-D16) comparing domestic versus foreign manufacturing. Now in retirement, Dutch has returned to composing poetry and has expanded the love of songwriting he nurtured in his younger days.
He continues to hold popular songwriters as major winds directing his creative ambition.
In his past, he enjoyed moderate success writing and performing tapes of his songs with local artists in his hometown and received airplay on a local radio station.
